Obama supporters are deaf, dumb and blind

We three have been involved in third party politics for nearly 20 years- we became introduced during the Perot era and we have continued the good fight all this time to restore America to the people. Charles – who all this time has remained in the employ of NBC news had become an Obama supporter and has driven our group, still together all this time, off the deep end with his latest poll regarding the blog piece History is repeating. Can we save America?

You know, it is truly disheartening to see people posting this stuff without taking half a minute to check it out at all. If you would do so, you would have found out immediately, as I did, that, while David Kaiser is a real and respected historian, this piece is a well-known hoax, long since exposed both by the well-known hoax detectives at Snopes http://snopes.com/politics/soapbox/proportions.asp and on Professor Kaiser’s own web site at http://historyunfolding.blogspot.com/ Be that as it may, there are still claims in this article on which some may want discussion. In a nutshell, here are the claims which appears in this piece:

a proposition that is so uncontroversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago? So, to begin with, a proposition rescinding the right in California for gays to marry, Proposition 8, should be considered uncontroversial. How many here agree with the characterization of such a proposition as uncontroversial?

unelected judges..write laws that radically change our way of life –
How many here agree that unelected judges are writing laws that radically change our way of life?

    mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others [are] turn[ing] our voting system into a banana republic –
    How many here agree with that statement?

we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion –
How many here believe that we no longer use the phrase “war on terror” because we are afraid of offending Muslims?

    we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about—
    How many here agree with that statement?

    All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals –
    How many here agree with that statement?

you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? –
Okay, how many here believe bama has called for the creation of this alleged civilian defense force?

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us–
How many here believe that Obama has never brought people together in his professional life? How many believe that Obama will divide us?

a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. —
How many here agree that comparing Obama to Hitler is fair and accurate?

he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed–
How many here agree with this characterization of Obama’s supporters?

The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think.–
How many here agree this is what Obama is creating or will create?

He did it by indoctrinating the children, —
How many here believe that Obama is in the process of indoctrinating our children, or intends to do so?

advocating gun control, —
How many here believe that Obama will take away people’s guns?

health care for all, —
How many here agree that any nation where all citizens have health care must be a Nazi state?

Germany…in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency)…was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.
How many here believe that Obama’s policies are leading in this direction?

To summarize, this piece makes 15 concrete statements. In general, how would you characterize the piece?

A) a piece of right-wing hate, which spreads wild and false smears, and one that is entirely inappropriate for this discussion group

B) a mainstream piece of political opinion, with which some may agree and with which some may disagree

C) an extraordinarily insightful and innovative piece, featuring superior historical understanding and correct analysis, a piece which provides this group with useful, definitive and provocative observations

In my opinion, to some extent, this piece may afford the members of this discussion group a chance to understand ourselves better. Who are we? What do we believe?
I want to thank in advance those who choose to respond to this survey. I believe it could be quite helpful and instructive for all of us. For what it’s worth, I would characterize this piece as A).

I wrote and told this long time employee of NBC News in NYC and a friend of 20 years that at the very least he needed to add another option or he should not expect anyone to answer and I offered :

D) a piece of political opinion, with which some may agree and with which some may disagree but the first amendment gives us a right to publish. A lady who both Charles and I have know for the same 20 years and who I now consider my hero spend more time detailing her reply to Charles and I thought you also might enjoy her comments. Please feel free to add yours and I will pass them along to Kathleen.

This is not a valid survey. What you have done is alter the opinion of the author in such a way that only a certifiable, wing-nut wearing a tin foil hat would answer in the affirmative. An amusing push-poll, Charles. After everyone voting disagrees with the questions as you have phrased them, you will then announce that the ARP officially disagrees with the opinions expressed in the article.

I don’t disagree. I don’t care who wrote the article–an opinion piece cannot be considered a “hoax.” I wish I’d written it. Come on, people, wake up! What’s happening didn’t just start with Obama–it’s been developing for a long time. Yes, the government did force banks to make loans to people who couldn’t pay (they could opt-out by contributing money to ACORN.) The Fed did loan unbelievable amounts of money and now won’t open their books. We have seen our country de-industrialized, and many say “intentionally.” Our schools teach revisionist history, focusing on what America’s done wrong. Teachers teach propaganda. (see “The Story of Stuff” produced by the Tides Foundation, funded by George Soros.) Lots of videos have surfaced showing school children singing the praises of Obama (some to the tune of popular hymns.) Parents remain clueless.

To say that there are similarities between America 2009 and pre-Nazi Germany is not to say that Obama and Hitler are the same. I did not read that in the article. Those who doubt the similarities should read about the Weimar Republic. We’re recreating it, folks. If it happened in Germany, it can happen here. Read “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg. Oh, and, Charles, it’s a safe read for you because he barely mentions Obama.

Yes, Obama has called for a “civilian defense force” that is “just as well funded as the military.” He said it in a speech that I’ve listened to many times. Why oh why do we need that? Obama has surrounded himself with radicals: Van Jones, avowed Marxist (now resigned), John Holdren who 30 years ago was predicting an ice age, not global warming. He also wanted forced sterilization. Cass Sunstein who once wanted to ban hunting but will now settle for heavily regulating who can buy a gun. Anita Dunn who is paid to watch Fox News all day and says her two favorite “political philosophers” are Mother Teresa and Chairman Mao–and she thinks about them every day. Then, of course, there’s Bill Ayers and his buddy who founded the Weather Underground and blew up the Pentagon. There’s so many czars and advisors I don’t have time to go into them all. But stories on every single one. Yes, even including pretty Valarie Jarret.

I agree completely with the author (whoever it is) in this comment: “I have never been so afraid for my country and my children as I am now.” Those of you who are still filled with hope are not watching/reading the news. Charles, I know you’re loyal but everyone at NBC is drinking their own kool-aide. Same with most of the rest. I used to divide between CNN and Fox, but after CNN didn’t cover a number of important stories, I’ve settled on Fox. That’s the only place you find the stories behind the stories and that asks the important questions.

Charles, you are trying to turn the ARP into an arm of the Progressive Movement, and I will resist that until my dying day. (Again, read “Liberal Fascism.”) If any of you want to experience “hope,” read “The 5000 Year Leap.” That’ll make you believe in America again!

  1. I also posted this very letter from one of my groups, to the Oct. 5 “Obama: The brunt of jokes-but it’s much too sad to laugh about”, who I assumed that Dr. David Kaiser wrote.

    Even though Dr. David Kaiser or Dr. Timothy L. Wood, both Historians, did not write this most poignant letter that was also, posted in Pam Geller’s, Atlas Shrug or Pat Dollards blog, it still speaks volumes!

    The uncanny connections in this profound letter of the past and the actions of the present is dumbfounding!

    A hoax is deceptive and untruthful. The only thing that one may point to as being untrue is attributing this letter to Dr. David Kaiser or Dr. Timothy L. Wood as it’s author.

    This letter is based in factual historical events, that have taken place in time. Many would like to deny and obliterate the most unpleasant experiences in history but, there it is in all of it’s horror! From these horrors, we hopefully learn from the horrible mistakes made by man and correct them to make sure that these same events are never repeated again!

    This is America and as Americans it is our duty to protect this Country and it’s citizens from all those who would enslave America. This Country was founded on the principles that we are freedom loving and an independent nation of People!

    “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”,

    This letter is a warning to all of us! We would be derelict in our duties to ignore the past and not take note of the similar incidents of the present and the future of America and the American People!
