Why Are We More Offended By Racism Than Sexism?

As a culture we are more offended by racism than sexism – which is not to say that we’re more sexist than racist.

But sexist jokes are more easily traded. Nearly anyone at a U.S. University knows the punch line to, “What’s the difference between a slut and a bitch?” (I’ll answer that in a later blog.) I attended a university in which jokes about women students prevailed. Typical “coed joke”: “What’s the difference between a coed and the trash? The trash gets taken out once a week.”

When Don Imus called Rutger’s women’s basketball team “nappy headed hos,” we were offended by the racism. But the sexism was mostly overlooked.

In fact, sitcoms rarely have mixed-race casts, possibly because they fear a racist joke cropping up, or a comment coming across as such. Meanwhile, I’ve watched a couple of seemingly feminist shows that used the word “bitch” (and not in a good way) in nearly every episode: Ugly Betty and Life Unexpected. Some TV shows’ raison d’etre seems to be spewing sexism. Family Guy and The Man Show come to mind.

Gangsta’ rap is full of sexism, but few complain. If a genre of music talked about people of color the way that women are labeled in rap we would be outraged.

During the last presidential election mainstream media took way more shots at Hillary than Barack, as with Tucker Carlson’s well known crack, “When she comes on television, I involuntarily cross my legs.”

There’s a reason for the difference in offense.

Basically, women put up with sexism more than ethnic groups put up with racism. But why?

First, ethnic groups are aware of times and places when whites haven’t ruled, from present-day Japan to pre-imperial Africa. People of color know that things can be, and have been, different. U.S. racism is glaring by comparison.

On the other hand, most women are unaware of cultures that have existed with gender equality.  Knowing nothing else, the inequity they face can seem natural and normal to them.

Many women attend churches that teach that men should be in charge. These women don’t want to go against God. I’m not aware of any ethnic minority churches that preach God wants whites to rule.

Men are women’s lovers, husbands, sons, fathers, and brothers. They love them and want to keep relationship with them. They don’t want to offend them.

Meanwhile, our culture does much to make sexism seem sexy, from Eminem, Rihanna, and Megan Fox sexing up domestic violence to a Rolling Stones billboard depicting a woman sprawled on the floor, mouthing, “I’m black and blue and loving it,” to Justin Timberlake slapping Janet Jackson around and ripping her blouse in a so-called “wardrobe malfunction.” Yeah, right.

All of this leaves ethnic minorities unified in their offense against inequality, while attitudes among women are more mixed.  I’ve heard women say that they don’t want to be equal to men, but I’ve never heard an ethnic minority say they don’t want to be equal to whites.

So racism is more difficult to spew, as it meets greater indignation.

As women become more aware of sexism, and come to understand that their silence sounds like acceptance, things will more quickly change.

Urgent: Racism and Voter Fraud? Let’s expose it!

BettyJean Kling

When I first read this email I was hesitant to reprint it. I cringed at the way it was written, the racist tones like; “They didn’t look like dope dealers, gun runners or pimps” , “Now, Yuba City is mainly mexican with a whole lot of illegals living and breeding there” the language made, made my skin crawl but I left the damned thing intact.

Why? Because as disgusting as the letter is – Being bigoted and illiterate does not negate voter fraud if it exists. The letter is obviously racist and it needs to be exposed and it may also expose voter fraud and black racism I know occurred in 2008 and may very well be occurring again. If so  – we need to expose that too!

I lived through the 2008 voter fraud, I watched this sort of thing happen. I was called a racist when I was not.Black racism exists and there was busing and voter fraud  and rigged elections.  I was there while “ We Will Not Be Silenced “ by Gigi Gaston was filmed and I know the election was stolen for Obama through fraud.  I cannot stand by and let it happen again because some bigot cannot express himself without showing his ignorance.

Because this story, while written repulsively, mirrors that which I know to be factual in the past I am publishing the letter. I demand an investigation be launched to help determine if this incident occurred and if it did – these registrations or irregularities must be purged and those responsible must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

‘Race’ ing to November California Election Fraud !!!
– this eye witness account came in yesterday, I am certain there is much more of this flagrant activity as 2008 repeats !

Thanks CS GP chuckolb@bellsouth.net Dateline: Saturday, July 31, 2010, 2:20 PM

Yesterday, Friday, June 30th, my husband and I decided to ride our Gold Wing to Napa County. We take that ride about three times a month.  The roads are back roads, paved and the ride through the vineyards is really nice.  Our end destination was Middletown, CA (about 300 round trip miles from our home).  Now, this is in the heart of Napa County.  We have ridden there many, many times and have NEVER seen as many vans full of blacks as we saw yesterday.
There were five vans full in Middletown.  I asked one of them where they were from and he said Oakland, CA.  This is a majority black town.  I asked him what he was doing in Middletown and what did he hope to see.  He said, “We be doin our man’s business”.  I didn’t know what in the hell he was talking about.    I didn’t start to catch on until we arrived in Clearlake on our way back.  We pulled into a Chevron station and there were two big Chevy vans parked next to the convenience store.  I counted 16 black people in each van.   One of them walked over to us and was making comments about our Wing.  I asked him where he was from and he said, “Oakland”.  I asked him what he had come to Clearlake to see and he said almost the same thing as the first one, “We just doin business”.  They didn’t look like dope dealers, gun runners or pimps.
On our last stop in Winters at a Shell station, another van, (Dodge) pulled in and nine blacks climbed out.  I was getting more and more curious, because, as I had stated earlier, you just don’t see such large groups of blacks in these areas.  I followed two of the women who had exited the van into the convenience store and I tapped one of them on the shoulder.  I asked them if they were from the area and one of them said, “No, Oakland’.  OMG!!!  I asked them what they had come to the area to see and they looked at each other, shrugged and walked away.  Were they on a mission to do their ‘man’s business?’
As we traveled back home on highway 20 we followed two more vans (one Ford and one Chey) full of blacks entering Yuba City.  Now, Yuba City is mainly mexican with a whole lot of illegals living and breeding there.  But, you don’t see blacks.  We followed the two vans through Yuba City and Marysville and they took highway 70 which connects to either 99 or 80 and we stayed on highway 65.
Did I see what I think I saw?  It was a Friday.  Were these blacks who were ‘doing their man’s business’ committing voter registration fraud in these small towns and three different counties?  Doing their man’s business  is curious and probably illegal.
Something was amiss about this.  TEN large vans full of black people all from Oakland.  But, they weren’t traveling together in a caravan.  They were grouped wrong!  Vans are more expensive than buses.  Buses are more conspicuos than vans.  Can you imagine a bus loaded with blacks pulling into county building to register to vote?  Something was very wrong with the whole thing.  So, if they were registering to vote in three different counties, then I say lets do the same thing.  Time to fight back and we can do double time at the polls just like they do!  While registering to vote in many counties is illegal, my offer was just a suggestion.

So – what is it just Racism against people of color, or both racism and voter fraud? Are we going to sit by and let any of this go on in our Democratic Republic? It is up to us to straighten this out. It’s up to us to put a stop to the insanity. It is not a case of Right or Left – it is a case of Right or wrong.

Contact Beck,  call or write to someone – do an investigation – get to the bottom of this. Put it on FaceBook – but don’t let this die out without finding out if it is a racist smear or if the vote is about to be fixed or both! You are either part of the solution – or part of the problem.

Unequal protection under the law

The Bib

In a nation where all are guaranteed equal rights, all Affirmative Action, Special Interests, “social justice” initiatives amount to unequal protection, an institutionalized Caste System, a license to be racist with impunity against for the historic and culture hegemonic American, the White, exponentially more against the White Christian.

And so, to engage in a defensive dichotomy that is racist AND presents but one point of view with no regard for “born equal” and equal protections is to play into the very forces that promote and perpetuate government sanctioned racism, commonly referred now as “reverse racism.”

Rectification and remediation is hard for those on the “special interest” tit, it means they too have to stand as equal, with equal opportunity and no more guarantee than anyone else for equal result.

Refuse to be drawn into these battles, they are fought by “special interests” who have a vested interest in mucking the muck, their pay off, donation money and power.

There are many blacks out there who not only do not buy into it but are humiliated at the prospect that they are somehow born inferior and who need government to even the playing field because they are not “equal” to the task.

I guess what I am saying is the best way to handle such race baiters is to marginalize them and work the system within and without, against them.

If the damned media gave them the attention they deserved, we wouldn’t hear any of it.

Racism Rears its Ugly Head

At last- and I hope we are going to see more and more of us standing up for ourselves and for all women and all children who are being grossly mistreated without a whimper! I welcome all such opinions with hope that it will help us stop the blatant and accepted prejudice against whites and women and children.

From : Wake up Americans

The history of racism in this country has been a record of a steady improvement in eliminating this scourge. Over 600,000 Americans died in the Civil War in part to eliminate slavery. Nevertheless, while slavery was definitively abolished after 1865 with the adoption of the 14th amendment, discrimination against people with black skins was alive and well in the former states of the Confederacy. This discrimination was codified in the form of Jim Crow laws. Attempts to abolish these laws through federal legislation were blocked in the Senate by filibusters from the Democrat Senators from the Southern states even though Republican Senators were all in favor for them. Thanks to the Supreme Court in Brown vs. The Board of Education, steady progress was made when the Presidents of both parties weighed in against segregation.

When John Kennedy picked Lyndon Johnson from Texas, who had voted against every civil rights bill before 1960, Johnson was forced to reverse course and suddenly become a champion of civil rights. Even though Barry Goldwater had voted for every civil rights bill before 1964, the 1964 version contained a title that used the infamous interstate commerce clause to force private property owners serving the public to allow people of all races onto their property. Even though Goldwater thought discrimination based on race should be abolished, he could not vote for the bill with this title in it. With that vote and the following presidential race of 1964 of Johnson versus Goldwater, a massive shift in American politics began. The solid Democratic South went Republican and black Americans went from solidly Republican to solid Democrat.

This trade off allowed the Republicans to win most of the presidential elections after 1964 because most of the southern states were suddenly voting Republican in presidential races. It was at this point that the media successfully tagged the Republicans with being racist. In spite of the fact that it was a Republican president who won the Civil War and Republicans who had always championed civil rights and primarily still did other than for the die-hard segregationists in Congress. By 2000, racism against blacks was a big no-no just about everywhere in America. It was clear that the vast majority of white Americans were totally opposed to racism against black Americans.

Still this troubled past of whites versus blacks bothered most whites because they knew that over most of the history of America, the blacks had gotten a raw deal. These whites decided to make clear once and for all that racism was a thing of the past and voted for Barack Obama to become President. They were so determined to prove this that they overlooked that this particular black was sorely lacking in credentials to run the government and that he had some truly alarming past associations with some really unsavory characters. Once this was accomplished, the whites relaxed and waited for a post-racial American utopia to settle in.

Whites were already somewhat annoyed at affirmative action programs that favored blacks over whites but given the legitimate gripes that blacks had over their previous treatment, went along with it as a form of reparations. Now that there was a black president, whites felt that these affirmative action programs would be phased out as no longer necessary. Needless to say they also expected blacks to stop playing the victim role. Alas and alack, what the whites got was the exact opposite. They discovered that they had just elected a black man whose was the most racist president in the last 100 years only now he was clearly prejudiced against whites and had plans to stick it to those gullible whites right from the get go. It was soon apparent that Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s anti-white and anti-American sermons had found fertile ground in the mind of one Barack Obama.

He began by selecting an avowed racist as his attorney general and populating the upper echelons of the Justice Department with black apologists whether their skin color was black or not. Thus it was not surprising that this new Justice Department dismissed most of the charges against new black panther party members in the most clear cut voter intimidation case since 1970, only this time black intimidation of whites. From there on it was all downhill. When heavily black populated New Orleans was flooded and the Bush Administration was not johnny on the spot with a massive help effort, all hell broke loose. But when a white populated Nashville was flooded minimal help was provided and nary a peep was heard about that.

Now we have arrived at a point where any criticism of the Obama administration is immediately branded as racist even when blacks are the ones doing the criticism since they are airily dismissed as “Uncle Tom” blacks. It is now totally taboo to use the N word to describe a black, but calling white folks a “cracker” is a-okay. A cracker was originally used to describe a white person who lives in Florida’s panhandle. Now it is the equivalent C-word to derogatorily describe a white person. We have now reached a point where we hear some blacks saying they should kill cracker babies and that it is the black people’s time to stick it to the whites when thanks to Attorney General Holder they no they will never be prosecuted for hate crimes.

Now we have the NAACP folks trying to brand tea party members as racists which is a case the black kettle calling a pro-black pot pro-white. Of course, in all of this, the mass media has aided and abetted this scenario in the extreme. We believe that black Americans, from the White House on down to the ghettos doing this, do so to their great peril. The Democrats have gone out of their way to declare themselves the champions of the blacks (although in fact only since 1964) and a good part of the backlash they are getting in the polls is caused by their anti-white bias.

Black Americans are only 1 in 8 of America’s population and whatever benefits they get for being Americans is due to the white Americans’ tolerance. When blacks become racists against whites, they are literally biting the hand that feeds them. When Democrats tolerate such racist behavior on the part of blacks they are asking for a massive repudiation in the November election. According to public opinion polls, that is exactly what is in store for them. We believe the public opinion polls are understating the white backlash because no white person wants to be thought a racist. The NAACP resolution against the tea party might just have been the tipping point that will turn the 2010 election into a repeat of not 1994 but 1938 instead.

All 3 pale in comparison to Hillary’s Lifetime Achievements!

By Barbara

Barack Obama picked up his Noble Peace Prize having been awarded to him for things he might accomplish in the future and since in his acceptance speech he included himself with Peace Prize winners King and Mandela the world stage awaits his “labors” of what he might accomplish.

The Vital Voices Global Leadership Network is comprised of over 5,000 women from more than 150 countries in every region throughout the world. The women who make up this network are established, emerging and rising women leaders who work in the public and private sectors to promote positive change in their communities. As social entrepreneurs, political, economic and civil society leaders, our Global Leadership Network members are committed to bringing women's voices to the table to facilitate good governance, economic prosperity and social change as well as combat human rights violations that hinder nations' abilities to move towards progress.

Speaking of those who have accomplished on a world stage, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton received the Eleanor Roosevelt Lifetime Achievement Award. What’s that you say? You didn’t know that? It didn’t make the news huh?

Oh yes, on the same day the POTUS was in Oslo picking up his award for what the NPP committee hoped he would do,  but he didn’t do, but he might do it in future award, AKA “Future achievement Award”, Hillary Clinton was in Sweden receiving an award for things she actually has done. She was awarded for her “woman’s rights are human rights” campaign.

What’s that you say? Not a word in the media?

You did hear Michelle Obama was the “Most Fascinating Person of the Year”? Yep 2009 most fascinating person. Her husband was most fascinating in 2008. But 2009 belongs to Michelle. IMHO the only thing fascinating about Michelle is that Barbara Walters finds her fascinating.

So Mr. Peace prize winner and Mrs. fascinating claimed their awards on the same day Hillary Clinton claimed hers and I guess between all the talk about how much Barack has done to earn the award in the future and how fascinating Michele was this past year, and of course Tiger Woods, Hillary got lost in the shuffle, besides it was A Women’s Award and that is soooooo boring and who gives a crap about actual accomplishments when we have Barack and Michelle and Tiger.

So Hillary received an award for actually accomplishing something. Boring when you can concentrate on what someone might accomplish and of course a woman who was the First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the America, US Senator, Presidential Candidate, Secretary of State, Children rights advocate, Human rights advocate, FEMINIST, and of course devoted daughter, wife and mother is not at all “fascinating” when up against the fascinating accomplishments of Michelle Obama.

So you missed the Hillary news. Here is the link. http://vitalvoices.org/programs/global-leadership-network

Let’s celebrate Hillary Rodham Clinton and her fascinating accomplishments. Congratulations Hillary, I am so proud of you.

Nobel Prize, Barbara’s Most Fascinating persons 2008 and 2009, possibly the Worlds Greatest Golfer? All 3 persons and their honors pale in comparison to Hillary’s  Lifetime Achievements!

Buchanan to Obama

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to… This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans… Untold trillions have been spent since the ‘ 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new ‘ladders of opportunity’ for blacks. Let him go to Altoona? And Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving’ white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tanana Brawley, the Duke Rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago. We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not.

When Does Dissent Equal Racism?

We’ve heard it before and sadly, it seems it will be trotted out again and again and again…  If you don’t support Obama you must be a closeted Republican or a racist.  This was the mantra marched out at all the democratic primaries and caucuses across this nation from January of 2008 through the general election of November 4, 2008. If you aren’t supporting Obama you must be a racist.  Interestingly, many of the problems we kept seeing in Obama are now surfacing more widely: his lack of experience, managerial and executive, his continual campaigning for the next office, his associations with those who ideals did not reflect our own American values, and so on.  But very few if any voiced an issue with his race.

One of the best responses I know is perhaps the simplest.  If America is so mired in racist mentality and simply put is a HORRIBLY RACIST NATION, how did this man of mixed race, who classifies himself as African American / Black win the election and become President?

Let’s set the record straight IT’S NOT ABOUT RACE!

I give you the following thoughful response to those chanting racism.

Statement of Deneen Borelli on Allegations of Racism Against Critics of Obama Policies

Washington D.C. This statement was issued today by Deneen Borelli of the national black leadership network Project 21:

“There they go again. Now Jimmy Carter has joined House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, Texas Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, New York Governor David Paterson, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd and others on the left in claiming racism is behind criticism of President Obama’s big-spending policies.

The public is outraged about the president’s policies — the spending, the budget, the deficit — not his skin color.

President Obama was not elected only with black votes. Are those who cry ‘racism’ saying the American people suddenly woke up and said, ‘oh, he’s black so I don’t like him anymore’? That makes no sense. The criticism of Obama’s policies is about the policies — the stimulus, the growth of government, cap-and-trade, the health care bills, the overspending.

It’s easier for the left to play the race card than address the public’s legitimate concerns, but what the left and the media are doing is damaging and dangerous.

It’s damaging because when everything is racist, then nothing is. Those who cry racism without evidence will cause people to tune out in cases in which there is evidence.

It’s dangerous also to send a message that racism is behind everything. What does that tell young black men and women? It tells them they will never get a fair shake and that white people who have never met them dislike them. With a message like that, it’s no surprise we’re seeing apparently racial incidents like the widely-circulated video of a young white student being beaten up on a school bus by black students while other black students cheer. What message have those black students internalized from liberal leaders like Rangel, Johnson, Paterson, Matthews and Dowd and now former President Carter? That white people are their enemy.

If this continues — if not already — the left will literally have blood on its hands, and all because it was too dishonest and too cowardly to have a fair debate with the American people on policy.”

Project 21, established in 1992, is sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research (http://www.nationalcenter.org).
