NOW gets it now: or are they trying to win women back for the party?

Another Rant By: BettyJean Kling

The gossip website Gawker on Thursday posted an anonymous account of a man who said he had had a one-night stand with O’Donnell three years ago on Halloween. Gawker reportedly paid the man in the “low four figures” for the account and pictures of O’Donnell dressed up like a ladybug.

The site has been widely criticized by media outlets for posting the item and was denounced Thursday by the National Organization for Women.

“NOW repudiates Gawker’s decision to run this piece,” the organization said in a statement. “It operates as public sexual harassment. And like all sexual harassment, it targets not only O’Donnell but all women contemplating stepping into the public sphere.”

Well I hate to be blunt but I must. It took one hell of a lot for NOW to finally step up to the plate for a conservative woman and the woman they stepped up for is Christine O’Donnell of all Conservatives. Holy Cow! But not so fast ladies, you are a day late and a dollar short. I’ll not thank you for doing exactly what you should have been doing for the last three years beginning with the attacks on Hillary and culminating with Christine. Simply put – I don’t trust you anymore!

Politico obviously is ready to accept NOW at their word but is less   apt to trust  other Democratic shills as the author points to O’Donnell’s opponent as the source for this latest moral attack on yet another female candidate.

“Even the National Organization for Women gets it, but Christine’s opponent disturbingly does not,” Sachtleben wrote. “Classless Coons goons have proven yet again to have no sense of common decency or common sense with their desperate attacks to get another rubber stamp for the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda. Such attacks are truly shameful, but they will not distract us from making our case to Delaware voters — and keeping the focus on Chris Coons’s record of higher taxes, increased spending and, as he has done again here, breaking his promises to the voters.”

This disgusting trashing didn’t work on Niki and it won’t work on Christine- I only hope it’s not to late to backfire on her detractors. I am so proud of women this year who had stood up for other women and said Enough is enough! They are mad as hell and not going to take this anymore!

If NOW is sincere- I will forgive but that remains to be seen- I will be watching and so will all of us at The Majority United, we look forward to being on the same side- empowering women to stand shoulder to shoulder on those issues on which we can agree.

I told you they were only trying to win women back for their damned party!
They have learned batter tricks well- treat em bad throw a crumb- hit em again.

NOW Calls for Nationwide MARCH Nov. 2!

MARCH to the polls, and vote as if women’s lives depend on it — because they do! Prove the pundits and our opponents wrong: Vote on Nov. 2, and bring along at least one other activist, friend or family member.

You’ve heard the buzz that women voters have given up and Democrats stand to lose this mid-term election. That will be the headlines only if we sit out this election. Pick an action, and prove them wrong:

  • Call or email every feminist you know to urge them to vote
  • Volunteer to distribute door-hangers about feminist or progressive candidates
  • Offer to phone bank for a get-out-the-vote effort. If there are no competitive races in your area or state, find a candidate you admire and volunteer to phone for them
  • Volunteer to pick up voters and take them to polling places
  • Organize a car pool for your feminist friends to make sure they vote — go to lunch or dinner afterward, and celebrate the women who fought for our right to vote

We must defend our champions in the statehouses and halls of Congress and support new feminist candidates if we ever hope to gain equal rights for women and guarantee women’s safety, economic justice and autonomy. Our opponents cannot stand the prospect of a world where women are fully equal, and we cannot stay silent as long as that world remains only a dream.

This Election Day IS a March for Women’s Lives. We cannot be silent while women are beaten, raped and murdered, while women’s futures are limited or denied by repressive and cruel fiscal and social policies meant to benefit the privileged.

NOW/PAC has endorsed strong candidates – candidates who will protect women’s rights and work to achieve equality and justice.

Conservatives, corporate interests and Tea Party types are raising money and mobilizing like crazy. Scores of right-wing candidates with more extreme views than ever before are on the ballots. Their efforts are funded by the super-rich and big business. Decades worth of progress made by feminists on many fronts will suffer severe setbacks if ultra-conservative candidates running in this election gain power.

Republican and Tea Party candidates will continue to promote policies that favor their backers — the richest 20 percent of Americans who own 85 percent of the wealth in the U.S. and receive nearly half of all income annually. If elected, these candidates will set about undoing policies and programs that advance equality.

The already wide gap between rich and poor will increase. The social safety net — programs like Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare — will be further weakened. Critical progress on important legislative priorities will be lost, including pay equity initiatives, welfare reform and fully funding the Violence Against Women Act, among many others. Educate yourself about the issues and find the candidates who will support women’s rights.

Beck: Can you hear us now?

Hear I am calling out  Glenn Beck again. He claims to cover what the main stream media will not cover but we have been bringing him the truth  for quite some time and he still isn’t picking up the slack. He swears he is looking for information on voter fraud and swears he wants info on what the MSM is hiding. Well we got it. Does he really mean it when he claims? “Here we are, picking up the slack for the rest of the media again”

Hats off to Alisyn Camerota  from Fox and friends for finally picking up on the real story.

The truth was documented during the primaries and no one would listen- it’s all right here . Gigi Gaston walked among us and filmed and directed it and Bettina Viviano produced a film in 2008 during the primary elections  We Will Not Be Silenced  that is finally being brought to light. Not only can we bring  hundreds forward to swear to it  – we can prove it with pictures and records – if only anyone will bother to look, listen and believe those of us that witnessed it all in plain sight!

We have the proof he needs to blow this thing wide open – if  truth is – what he really wants to find – we have the proof! We also have the statistics and Caucus analysis all he has to do is ask! Come on Glenn – let’s see what you’re really all about! Come and get it !

Write to Glen Beck immediately and let him know he is missing a large piece of documented evidence on Voter fraud and intimidation!

In case you didn’t hear us the first time, we’ll repeat. Obama STOLE the 2008 Democratic Primaries.

And he and his gang will do it again too, if we let them. But this time, Pumas are still sounding the alarm. What happened with the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation cover-up, as well as Holder’s Justice Department’s alleged policy of not prosecuting Voting Rights Act complaints brought by citizens who happen to be white, suddenly has a larger context, a background, a backstory, and, crucially, a THEME. And the theme is: Barack Obama and his Movement will lie, cheat, and steal to win elections. Literally.

Since many of today’s readers may be new to this site and ones like it, I’ll post a few links for background information on what’s been going on in the Democratic party and in the upper echelons of DC and the national media headquarters since at least 2005.

Hillary Clinton actually received MORE VOTES than obama in the Dem Primaries and Caucuses of 2008. Let that sink in. Every time you read or hear a media spokesperson refer to Clinton’s “bitter loss” or “incompetent campaign” or “hard-fought loss” to obama, please  click on this link to reassure yourself that YES, the media is shamelessly lying. Clinton did not suffer a “bitter loss.” She won for lord’s sake. What she did do, was finally throw in the towel on June 7, 2008 because she knew she couldn’t beat the DNC Machine. So she cut her losses and tried to salvage a worthy and valuable goal from the corrupt wreckage of the New Democratic Party, as shamefully redesigned by Axelrod, obama, Emanuel, Brazile, and Pelosi. That gang, with obama as their untouchable figurehead, tragically transformed the party of inclusive, idealistic, and all-American common sense liberalism into a Chicago style club of insider-only thugs who play disenfranchised groups off of each other, working only to keep us divided and hating each other so we’ll be distracted fighting for scraps from a government that no longer guarantees justice for all but instead payback with taxpayer cash for a few (and, yes, the “few” most certainly include the corporate interests that funded his campaign).

But not only did Clinton receive more votes; she also received them in a climate of corruption, intimidation, and blatant favoritism practiced by the media and the party referees; the Dem party  leadership and media honchos who had the hots for an obama presidency. In Nevada and Texas, the corruption and illegal activity by the obama campaign against Clinton voters at the polling places was so blatant and out of control that the Clinton Campaign officially registered a complaint with the DNC and requested an investigation into, among other things:

  • Deliberately miscounted votes to favor Senator Obama.
  • Deliberately counted unregistered persons as Obama votes.
  • Deliberately counted young children as Obama votes.
  • Refused to accept preference cards from Clinton supporters who were at the caucus site by noon on the ground that the cards were not filled out fast enough.
  • Told Clinton supporters to leave prior to electing delegates.
  • Clinton supporters who arrived late were turned away from the caucus, while late Obama supporters were admitted to the caucus.
  • Obama supporters falsely informed Clinton supporters that no registration forms were available for them to register to vote at the caucus site.
  • Obama supporters wrongly told Clinton supporters who were attempting to caucus at the wrong precinct that they could not caucus at that site, while simultaneously permitting Obama supporters at the wrong precinct to participate.
  • Obama supporters were allowed to move to the front of the registration and sign-in line.
  • Workers were informed that their supervisors kept lists of Clinton and Obama supporters, and were told that they could not caucus unless their name was on the list of Obama supporters.
  • Many Clinton supporters were threatened with employment termination or other discipline if they caucused for Senator Clinton.
  • Workers were required to sign a pledge card to support Obama if they wanted time off to participate in the caucus.
  • Workers at one casino were offered a lavish lunch and permitted to attend and register to vote only if they agree to support Obama.

Apparently some pretty big media outlets are FINALLY starting to understand what we’ve been trying to explain for years. As Hillbuzz says, “It is never the crime, but the coverup that does these people in. Democrats never bothered to coverup the voter fraud because the Media never talked about it and too few Americans were ever interested in it.“

For those of us in the thick of things, paying attention, and screaming our heads off for what feels like forever to try to get the mainstream media to listen, two years feels like an eternity. But we said in June 2008, and again in November, and we say it almost every day: Pumas are in this for the long haul. We can’t rest, because every day new developments show just how right we were. New examples of obama incompetence make clear how we were right about how serious the consequences for our country and our democracy would be when the media cheerleaders facilitated the Emanuel-Axelrod-Dean Chicago style takeover of the Democratic National Committee.

Pumas Won’t Rest.

Great Uterine Wall

I have been thinking what’s it going to take for women to comprehend that we are the majority and we are in control of our destiny?

Why do we willingly divide into a minority, a minority that prevents us from moving forward with important issues that affect every female on the planet?

Over 100 years ago Susan B Anthony said and I am paraphrasing, that unless we settle the abortion issue it will continue to divide women.

In 2010 it is and will continue to be used as a method of “divide and conquer”. I call it the “Great Uterine Wall”

Every election the GUW is erected and women voluntarily divide into Pro and Con and women go to battle with each over what is most definitely  a personal issue and what most definitely should not be a political issue.

Year after year women willingly allow their uterus to be used as a political pawn by allowing it to be the only end all, oh my God  issue that concerns us.

During an election the GUW goes up the right banner reads “They will force all women to have abortions so stick with us we will fight for your right.”

The left reads ” They will force all women to raise children so stick with us we will fight for your right”

So we divide into battle and they conquer and when the election is over the GUW comes down and women stand there and say WTF we are still underpaid, still under employed, domestic violence is escalating with no laws to protect us etc etc etc BUT hey I won the battle I  have the right to raise a child or not.

Congratulations, all that dividing and battling  and women rights have advanced…NO Where.

When will women say enough of the uterus issue? We have been discussing who owns my uterus and my conscious for a hundred years. It is now official… my uterus and my conscious  belong to me and her uterus and her conscious  belong to her. So let’s stop with the same old same old battle. Let’s take down the GUW so women can all be free to move on together …because.. did you know while we’re  fighting the battle of “who owns my uterus and my conscious”

Women are being  murdered at alarming rates?

“Four women a day are murdered in this country for NO reason. Since we invaded Iraq in March 2003, more than 4,200 American soldiers have been killed. In that same time, there have been NINE THOUSAND woman-lynchings; more than twice as many women slaughtered than US casualties in Iraq.” D. Murphy

Do you get it now?

These are the names and the stories of women murdered during and since the 2008 election.

 What’s that old saying?

“You won the battle BUT you’ve lost the war”

 You still want to divide?

Our Dear Leader – really knows his health care

Here we go again- from Camp Obama to door to door armies. Is this what we voted for? Do we really want this man’s face on every billboard, in every magazine and his vioce on every channel  both on TV and radio.

Do we need his presence all over the internet  while his army of  young and old are walking door to door over the next eight years indoctinating us to whatever OUR DEAR LEADER  wants us to know?

Ugggggggggggggg! When does the music get piped into our homes via satelite or will it be implanted via diode to be sure there is never a time that he is out of earshot?

I am for Health Care but the Devil is in the Details and I am against this devil and his way of brainwashing us with his details. I believe he gives us what we think we want— Like the SC three in one now go away.

I am for Health Care but the Devil is in the Details and I am against this devil and his way of brainwashing us with his details. I believe he gives us what we think we want— Like the SC three- in- one now go away.

We need to talk folks—all that glitters is not GOLD

The Democratic Party
Friend –Remember this date: Saturday, June 6th, 2009. We will look back on that day as the moment when the fight for real health care reform began in your neighborhood — perhaps even in your own living room.On June 6th, in thousands of homes across the country, we’ll gather to launch our grassroots campaign for health care. We’ll watch a special message from the President. We’ll build the teams and draw up the plans for winning health care reform the same way we won the election: Building support one block, one neighbor, one conversation at a time. And we’ll put those plans into action.

These kickoffs are so crucial that President Obama will join confirmed hosts and attendees on a live conference call.

Sign up today to host or attend a Health Care Organizing Kickoff.

Host a Health Care Organizing Kickoff

There’s no prior experience required. We’ll send you the details for dialing into the President’s call and provide you everything you need to make your meeting a success.

After the election, people gathered at over 9,000 meetings across every state to set priorities for health care reform. Our voices were heard. Now the race is on to make sure Congress produces a plan that reflects the President’s call for reduced costs, guaranteed choice, and quality care for all.

To make that happen, we need to build a groundswell of support in every district and every state, and we have no time to lose. All summer we’ll be reaching out to our neighbors, knocking on doors, serving in our communities, and building a grassroots network strong enough to win.

These gatherings on June 6th are just the beginning of a battle between those who fought and believe in change and those who would protect a broken status quo. The stakes for our country could not be greater.

Some call this strategy pie-in-the-sky. They say we’ll never have enough volunteers to make a real impact; that you need insiders and Washington lobbyists to make a difference. But you and I know firsthand how wrong they are. Starting June 6th, it’s once again time to show this country how bottom-up change is done.

Please sign up today to host or attend a kickoff near you.

These kickoffs will be both effective and fun. You’ll meet likeminded supporters in your neighborhood, share stories, enjoy good company and a shared mission, and know that no matter what this effort requires of us, if we work together we’ll be ready to face it and persevere.

I look forward to joining you and the President to chart our course.

Organizing for America

P.S. — This week, President Obama asked us to send in our personal health care stories. Hundreds of thousands of people have already responded, and the stories are simply incredible. Here are just few that help remind us what we’re fighting for:

I am a single parent and have lost my teaching job effective in June. I’m scared to death because my son has a serious pre-existing condition (Neurofibromatosis) and can’t go without medical insurance. However, my employer has just informed me that continuing my family coverage under COBRA will cost $1,400.00 a month! That’s a house payment for me. Or three times my car payment! How can I keep my family covered without going under financially?

Apple Valley, Minnesota

Since I lost my job in 2006, I have had no health insurance. After paying for insurance through my employer for 30 years, I have no major medical. But now that I am approaching 60, I may need insurance more than ever. I have not had a mammogram for three years because it would be too stressful to find anything suspicious. Risky but true.

Macon, Georgia

My husband isn’t getting enough hours at his job to qualify for health insurance so we have been looking around for a provider. He has a pre-existing health condition (non-epileptic seizures) and he is being denied left and right. We don’t make a lot of money, about $23,000/year and we can’t afford to not have insurance, in case he needs to go to the doctor. And it looks like we can’t afford to have it either. We are stuck.

Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, Jihadic Style. President Obama, Please Read This

From Chesler Chronicles April 30th, 2009 1:22 pm

While I was enjoying some sunshine in Savannah, (more to come about that), World War Four continued to rage blithely on.

Al-Qaeda in Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and North Africa, threatened terrorist attacks against Germany and Holland and threatened to kill a British hostage (captured on the border between Niger and Mali), if Britain does not release a radical Muslim preacher.

The Pakistani Taliban shot a couple dead for alleged adultery and their execution in Islamabad was captured on a cellphone; Egyptian police arrested a Muslim woman for having married a Coptic Christian; in Lahore, a Muslim husband killed his wife for failing to bear a son; in the Punjab, a Sikh physician-husband amputated his wife’s hand and that of her cousin with whom he suspected she was having an affair.

So much for male terrorists in foreign lands.

Last week, as I carefully smelled the roses in Georgia, there were three carefully organized explosions on one day in Iraq, which killed a total of 80 civilians. One explosion was carried out by a woman in a black abaya, holding a 5 year-old child’s hand, (probably not her own). She killed herself and 28 other Muslims in a crowded market in a Baghdad slum. The civilians, many of whom were other women, were waiting on line for free flour, cooking oil, tea, macaroni, and other staples that the police were handing out. Of course, police officers died as well.

Many people have written to me, surprised, outraged, perhaps demoralized by the fact that this latest Muslim-on-Muslim atrocity was committed by a woman and mainly against other women.

As the author of Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, which is just now being released in a new edition with a new Introduction, I am, unfortunately, not surprised. Please recall how quickly the mainstream media covered the “sensational” use of rape by the male members of Al-Qaeda as a way to recruit female human bombs. At the time, people seemed surprised by the fact that Samira Jassim, an Iraqi woman, played an essential role in the further exploitation of these rape victims.

Although women depend upon each other for emotional intimacy and social stability, they are also highly competitive with, mistrustful of, or hostile towards other women. Like men, women have also internalized sexist beliefs. Are women really sexists? Of course they are. A study of 15,000 people in nineteen countries on five continents found that women hold sexist views just as men do. However, some studies suggest that women with low self-esteem are more likely to internalize negative views of women which may account for how such women treat other women: With cruelty rather than kindness.

In addition, women are expected to compete mainly against other women, not against men, and they do so both directly and indirectly (through slander, shunning, and “backstabbing.”) In the Third World, especially in war zones, the female-female aggression is far more direct, often fatally so.

I have written a number of articles about Muslim mothers who have participated, both directly and indirectly, in the honor killing of their daughters; and about female Muslim suicide-homicide bombers who have specifically targeted other women and children.

For example, in 2008, in Iraq, one of four female homicide bombers entered a tent that provided shelter to weary female religious pilgrims. She sat down, read the Koran with them, and left a bag behind that, moments later, blew them all up. Please note that she targeted weary, religious Muslim women.

Thus, I was dismayed but not surprised when a Sunni, Al-Qaeda plot emerged, one in which male terrorists raped eighty Muslim girls and women, then turned them over to Samira Jassim who patiently, persistently, “maternally,” persuaded the rape victims, (many of whom had been targeted because they were depressed or mentally ill), to “cleanse” their shame by blowing themselves and other Muslims up. Twenty eight women did so.

In an interview with Dr. Anat Berko, the author of The Path to Paradise. The Inner World of Suicide Bombers and Their Dispatchers, she pointed out that there is “always a woman” behind the female suicide bomber, who functions like a “pimp or a Madam in a brothel.” Potential women suicide bombers are never alone again, they are always accompanied by at least one, usually older woman, who encourages, manipulates, guards, and supports the potential shaheeda–just like a mother might do.

In a culture in which girls are raised by women whose own mothers did not value them as they did boys, women may hunger for attention from an older woman–even one whose sole purpose is to ensure their jihadic death. In Dr. Berko’s book, there is a frightening example of how all the jailed, intercepted Palestinian female suicide bombers obeyed and respected one of their own: a woman who was the harshest, angriest, most mentally ill amongst them. Sadly, perhaps this most reminded them of their own mothers.

In a terrible sense, “Madam” Jassim, only exaggerated, by a bit, what is routinely and normatively done to many girls and women today in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, and increasingly in countries such as Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, etc. After all, Jassim played the Evil Stepmother in a culture which fears, despises, shrouds, genitally mutilates, force-marries girls to their first cousins, and perpetrates honor killings. How different is collaborating in their rape and helping them find glory through jihad? In a sense, some may actually view this as a quantum career leap for women.

Like Madam Jassim, when women are trapped in highly patriarchal cultures, they may gain the only approval and power possible for a woman by vigilantly policing themselves and other women to extol and support the patriarchal status quo. This is true in terms of issues such as veiling which, for women, is the visual shorthand for “jihad” and extreme religiosity. I fear that we will see many more Evil Stepmother/mothers like Samira Jassim and many more raped, traumatized, exploited, ideologically empowered, and ultimately suicidal-homicidal daughters.

Attention President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton: Supporting the pro-democracy and pro-woman’s rights forces within Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, and on the West Bank and in Gaza, might go a long way to reversing such ongoing tragedies. If America genuinely believes that women are human beings entitled to certain, God-given and “inalienable rights,” now is the time to share that view with the leaders of these countries.
