What if Elections Mattered Again?

Those of you who know me since I ran for office in 1990 and 1992 have heard me advocate government reform over and over again. You may have read my “Patriot Plan: Voter Imposed Term Limits” drafted in 1990 in which I explain why we need a third party and have to throw the bums out – all of them. I amusingly call our elected officials two wings of the same vulture.
Today I was made aware of a 5 minute speech that got Judge Napolitano fired from FOX news nearly a year ago. If you are not familiar with the Judge he is a brilliant jurist. More articulate than I, perhaps you will take note as he reveals what I have not been able to clearly convey all these years.
The Judge eloquently and powerfully details explicit facts that demonstrate what we have failed to recognize. If we continue to do what we have been doing – we are going to lose the America our founders gave us. Perhaps we are already too late.
Note: Ron Paul is not the answer but – “We the People” are.
Please listen to and digest this speech, if you believe it has merit – pass it on and perhaps “We the People” will begin to take back our country and stop the madness.

Tax donations needed: puppets or food banks, your money – your choice? Nov. 6

LET EM EAT CAKE!  Have these liberals no shame?

The 99% are on the East Coast this week yet the 1% in the entertainment Industry want our tax dollars for puppets? Ball players want their parades but throw us crumbs in return and insult us every chance they get with racial insults. If it were not for the viewing public there would be NO entertainment industry or spectator sports. Maybe it is time we send that message loud and clear. Let them eat cake!

If we are going to pay taxes – let it go to the devastated as a result of SANDY not to the 1% in the entertainment industry. PLEASE – I beg you pass that message around today and every day till the polls close!

Enough is enough- We have been told that wall street is the 1% but the entertainment industry and the Ball players and Hockey players make as much and hire so few- and where are they now?

Paid millions in salary, Sergio Romo wears ‘I just look illegal’ shirt at S.F. Giants parade paid for by tax dollars.

And now NPR and PBS who pay their executives nearly a million a year in salary are marching for tax dollar support on a day when the East coast is devastated? Gimme a break- let the entertainment industry pony up for their own – we have to take care of our own. No more tax dollars to the already rich and to the entertainment industry and sporting parades! Let those who have – pay their own way!

What is wrong here?

Remember, not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only 30K over your working life, that is close to $220,500. If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer’s contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working (me) you’d have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years, and that has with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you would have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month. The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever had. Entitlement my ass, I paid cash for my social security insurance. Just because they borrowed the money, does not make my benefits some kind of charity or handout. Congressional benefits, aka. free health care (They are exempt from the Healt Care they shoved down our throats), outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that’s welfare, and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements. These are the entitlements that need reformed!

535 Elected representatives from both parties have become millionaires who live extravegant lifestyles, flying in private 747  jets and spending money like royalty:

• Pelosi used Air Force aircraft for a total of 43 trips, covering 90,155 miles, from January 1 through October 1, 2010. The Air Force documented in-flight expenses for 22 of these flights totaling $1,821.33. The Air Force did not provide expense information for the remaining 21 flights.
• Former Speaker Pelosi received chocolate-covered strawberries as a birthday surprise on a March 26, 2010, flight. According to one internal Air Force email sent on March 25, 2010: “The speaker’s office is requesting egg salad sandwiches on wheat toast with fruit (watermelon, etc) for desert (sic). It’s the speaker’s B-Day tomorrow so we’re also asking for something like chocolate covered strawberries (dark chocolate preferred)…” The immediate response to the email from another member of the Air Force staff: “Copy all. We’ll plan something for the birthday and take care of the meal.”

The lavish parties and vacations complete with a separate entourage has proven our white house does not feel our pain. There are parties and state dinners and seperate vacations and vacations that seems to require two planes 4 hours apart. While Missouri drowned , people died and others starved Obama  dined happily with the Queen.  Guess he didn’t get the message from the backlash of the Bush administration when Baby Bush simply flew over New Orleans  on his way to a fund raiser or when he vacationed  and spent execcively during his eight years. Or maybe he learned – we are a dumb electorate — afterall Bush got 4 more years in spite of being incompetant

Someone please tell me what the HELL is wrong with all the people that run this country and with those of us that vote!

We are “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc?  In the past, we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey to name a few. And now Pakistan home of Osama Bin Laden is still getting literally, BILLIONS of American tax dollars.

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of dollars’ and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside or aborted to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc.

YET, they have a ‘Benefit’ for the people of other countries hit with hurricanes and earthquakes and tsunamis shown 24/7 on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies. We sent money for food to countries where the money never gets to the hungry but is instead used by the terrorists to further terrorize their own people and threaten everyone.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries. We are not saying we do not care about others but do not call our investment returns an entitlement and take it from US and give it to whom ever you please or to buy favors.

WE the people are very kind and generous, we can decide what charity we will donate to, and We can spend our money as we see fit.

OK, SO WHEN DO WE GET PISSED AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?

Let’s reform the Congressional entitlements that they vote for themselves on both sides of the aisle.  Throw the bums out – all of them- USACLEANSWEEP

I recently got an email with the following so called “BEST QUOTE OF THE DECADE – from the CZECH REPUBLIC” bashing the American people over our current POTUS.

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools who made him their President.”

Well, I cannot say that I disagree but it reminds me of the last ‘BEST QUOTE OF THE DECADE’ that one from the Brits. Remember this?

Any given Election year a paltry few percent of fools ( last few elections were won by 51-53%) will vote for one side or another over some radical issue be it religious vs. Liberal  (abortion/gay rights) or Republican vs. Dem (Green vs. drill baby drill or gun control) issue. Issues which apparently are more important that the waste, fraud, and abuse going on under our very noses. They are draining us dry while they are getting rich and making their cronies rich.

We should be focusing on jobs, economy, energy independence, education, infrastructure, equal representation by women in our government, media bias, court reform, earmark reform, term limits, terrorism, immigration, voter fraud, caucus fraud, corruption and tax reform instead of the divisive issues.

While they keep us looking at those divisive issues that keep us at each other’s throats they are abrogating our very democracy and getting away with it. We are battling each other while they just spend our money to get elected and re-elected. They spend it to play golf and to fly around the world visiting dignitaries for a day then vacationing for the rest of the week with the family members they brought with them; they vacation and buy homes on tropical islands all on our dime. They exempt themselves from our laws and health care reforms. They give themselves raises while they ask the citizens to pay more in taxes, they preach tax reform but they intend (just like HC reform) to hold on to their own loopholes. They believe they are above the law and are blatant about it (Kerry and his R.I. Yacht scandal)

The Republicans with their family values are repeatedly found short of family values too numerous to list here but we know what they are. Suffice it to say, both parties claim the other party does not suit our values and they are both right – NEITHER does! Both are corrupt! Both are lying through their teeth.

Both QUOTES OF THE DECADE are true, the one about fools voting for Obama and dummies voting for Bush. We are a nation of sheeple who are getting dumber and dumber every day and paying the dishonor to do so. The once great and proud America will fall like every great empire and like the great republic of Rome if we do not wake up soon and stop voting for a few issues, which both parties offer like carrots on a stick but never really deliver anyway but rather keep alive as bait to keep us hooked to their party.

WAKE UP.

BTW- I have no idea who really wrote the quote attributed to the CZECH’s – it doesn’t really matter  does it? Read instead our founders and our Constitution.

Historic President: significant changes we can do without!

 We are told to be proud of electing the first Black president because that demonstrates America is not a racist country. Ok we did that! And all we managed to accomplish, much like implementing affirmative action, is that while we are no longer a racist country – we are a majority of stupid liberals suffering from white guilt. What a way to pick the leader of the free world!

 We made history with this guy alright; here we are breaking all records the least of which was electing a half black man. President Obama’s $4.4 trillion in deficit spending. We have spent more money in credit vouchers per day every day than ever in history, we are deeper in debt then ever in history, we accomplished less in any 2 years with an all Democrat Party in full control of all three branches and yet never passed a budget in those 2 years, and without belaboring the lack of hope of change he ran on, created more animus between and among Americans than I have seen in my lifetime.

No other candidate of color has ever used the race card to this degree or created racial tensions within our communities just for the hell of it. No other administration has created this chaos between the rich and the poor.  Turning Americans one against the other all over the nation became commonplace, voting became brawling and talking politics became a gang fight. Town meetings were practically banned, culminating in actually calling grassroots Americans, Astroturf and labeling them “The Mob”.

 This borrow and spend crazy, socialist takes no responsibility for his actions, and insists he wants even more of our tax dollars for his extravagant lifestyle. Yes his predecessor was a jerk, and for a while he could blame Bush for leaving him a mess but wasn’t that part of what he promised he was coming to change? He even said,

 “If I can’t fix it in 3 years then maybe 1 term in all I deserve”.

I agree!  Now unfortunately for Japan and Europe, he has others to blame for his failure to accomplish his goals and demands 4 more years to completely destroy our economy! No thanks Mr. President – You will not get any more money from me – you have a bad credit rating! 

Historically speaking, he has done enough to earn his place in the books but I doubt he will be remembered in the way he predicted. He will never get his face on the mountain or on so much as our penny,

If ObamaCare was in effect today, would surgery, dialysis and chemo also be held hostage to this debate?

Without taking sides, as an Independent- non partisan American Citizen alone, I shudder to think what the talking heads in Washington would be terrorizing us with if ObamaCare (The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)  the federal statute that was signed into United States law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010) were already in effect. Playing politics with our veteran’s payments, social security and debt would pale in comparison to the scare tactics these shameless charlatans would be using to win points for their respective parties. These guys are the ones that put us here in the first place without asking us for permission to do so and by sweetening the deal to special interests and now they want to offer us more of the same old politics as usual. How long will they play the same game the same way and expect us to fall for it as if it were anything new?

When social Security was implemented we were told – it was for our own good and they would take our money and put it into a lockbox. That money, wisely invested would be there when we needed it. Did I mention this is a paid insurance policy paid into by “We the People” and now raided by our servants? Now the lockbox has been broken into, the money spent on God knows what to God know who, many who did not totally invest.

We are held hostage to our returns while being told it is an ENTITLEMENT as if that is a nasty word. You are damned right – some of us ARE entitled to a return on our investment. Moreover – some recipients are not. Frankly, I am sick of politicians dipping into my savings to be philanthropic to the not so entitled.

Entitlements as used in this context of claim or right to as in  (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans benefits) and Armed services salaries is the antithesis of entitled as used in the context of privileged which is the self yearly increased obscene paychecks and pensions our elected servants who  believe they and their families are ENTITLED to for life so long as they serve at least one term.

Members of Congress are covered under the Federal Employee Retirement System, which features a pension-style plan at minimal cost to employees. They contribute less than 1% of pay, and contributions bear no relation to the benefits. Weiner, 46, has been a Congressman for 12 years and has a recent salary of $174,000 (standard for both the House and Senate). After leaving office he has a couple of choices. He can begin taking discounted pension payments of about $25,000 a year starting at age 56 or wait until age 62 and collect about $35,000 a year.

For the average retirement investor, that’s a benefit comparable to $1.2 million in the bank. With the 10-year Treasury yield at 2.9%, that’s how much it would take to produce a guaranteed income of $35,000 a year.

Sweet deal huh? WU just raped a contributor’s daughter- he is the one who dresses up as a tiger- wonder what he will rake in? But here is Obama, all over the bloody TV and on the radio and finally taking Prime Time TV to ask Americans to flood the telephone lines because if they – the people who had no say in ObamaCare– fail to bail his ass out …

President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.

“I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

Our Veterans and servicemen who fought in wars they did not start but in which they never failed to risk their lives are also threatened. I have been saying for 20 some odd years now—or soldiers risk their lives for a pittance of what the thieves in Washington earn for fleecing us- THROW THE BUMS OUT!

“We cannot guarantee – if there were a default – that any specific bill would be paid,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said, seeking to leverage public pressure on negotiators from both sides who are headed back to the White House this afternoon. 

President Obama also raised the specter of short-changing recipients of federal benefits, telling CBS’s Scott Pelly in an interview that “there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.” 

More than 80 million Americans who receive benefits payments from the government each month could be at risk, the Treasury Department said.  Most of those checks cover Social Security recipients, veterans and civil service retirees. 

Gee, why doesn’t he threaten to cut off the paychecks of 535 servants that have not done the damned job? Why doesn’t he ask the Liberal bleeding heart millionaires and billionaires who agree with him like Bill Maher, and all those Hollywood  stars and the rest of his Chicago mob to donate the tax dollars they all insists he legislate into law as tax hikes. Last I heard – there is no law preventing them from paying more taxes? Why don’t he and Bill Clinton who keep telling us they don’t need the money along with Kerry the Yacht defector kick in at higher tax rates voluntarily?

Let’s see all these Millionaire and Billionaire liberals making over $250,000.00 volunteer to pay at the higher tax rate? Come on put your money where your mouth is – or shut the hell up!

Back to my point, along comes Obama and ObamaCare, again we were told – it was for our own good…. The majority of Americans did not want it or ask for it and yet a single party shoved it down our throats. IMAGINE having your surgery or your dialysis or your chemo held hostage to this debate between the left and the right if ObamaCare were in effect today?  I don’t give a damned what side you care to take – if all goes as planned, ObamaCare will soon be in effect, this debt is still increasing with no solution in sight- the debate and the war between the parties will continue forever. Do you still want your medical care in the hands of the government, our government, this Government? REALLY?

Is There A Doctor In The House – Or The Senate?

As the story goes, this guy goes to his Doctor for the umpteenth time with the same urgent complaint:

“Hey, Doc, I’ve been coming here for months and I keep feeling lousier and lousier. I’ve never felt worse in my whole life. What’s wrong with me, anyway?”

As this story goes on, the phriendly physician (we strive here for consistency) pauses and phrowns (see foregoing) before he replies:  

“Well, the truth is that you’re dying, Pal. In fact, you’ve been dying for a long time and you’re damn-near dead right now. I’m surprised that you even made it here today.”

The Patient (screaming):

“Nearly dead? How long have you known that”

The Doctor (calmly):

“Oh, for quite a while. Actually, as long as I’ve been treating you.”

The Patient (not at all so):

“My God, man, why haven’t you told me?”

The Doctor:

“Well, two reasons. First of all I didn’t want to upset you and also, I was afraid I might lose you as a patient if I prescribed nasty medicine.”

Okay, it’s a silly yarn, but it’s too true to be good if applied to the so-called “entitlements” (e.g., Social Security and Medi-whatever) so resolutely being shielded by our elected reprehensibles on Crapitall Hill.

On each and every day for the next two decades, ten thousand Baby Boomers will reach the age of eligibility for full retirement benefits – the Brass Rings of Geezerdom. But, like the early masons in so many pyramid schemes of yore (and the lucky few who got in and out before wiley old Bernie made off with all that loot), it will be a dream come only temporarily true for the newly old.

As noted in an earlier column (write joeklock@aol.com for a copy), only the first feeders at the public trough will be paid out of what is, in reality, a “Phantom Phund,” one which will go broke well before the younger oldsters approach the Grim Reaper.

The others, unless Congress performs major (and painful) surgery, will get the finger, instead of a handout, in the not-so-sweet bye and bye. Because, folksies, them-there “entitlements” are at death’s door, but our legislative doctors don’t have the stones to tell us so and prescribe the bitter medicine and hurtful therapy that’s needed – desperately and now!

Here it is – once more with feeling, and no fooling:

The real money carefully set aside in past years by you-all and I-all as a “phund” to pay future benefits was raided, raped and piddled away over subsequent years on expenditures having nothing to do with IOU’s to us-all in the program.

It was (fraudulently, sez I) replaced with IOU’s from Uncle Sam, payable by future generations who have nothing to gain beyond bailing out public servants with degrees of integrity that would make pickpockets  look like philanthropists.

The truth, buried underneath a mountain of bureaucratic bullscat and financial sleight-of-hand, is that their ain’t no easy way out of our current problem; and it IS ours, unless we choose to fob it off on our defenseless begats and grand-begats.

It will take one, or a combination, of the following prescriptions to cure the present malady and  prevent it from becoming a congenital American plague:

– Raise the retirement age for those able to qualify for gainful employment.
– Increase the tax bite on those who are still productive.
– Scale back existing programs that are unrealistic.
– Pay benefits only to those genuinely in need of financial aid..
– Initiate draconian penalties on dirtbags who swindle the system.
– Narrow the scope of services provided.
– Fire the gutless governmentniks who know only how to kick cans down the road.

As to that last item: We, the people (or are we sheeple?) need only grant to those in power the time between now and Election Day, 2012 to diagnose our national maladies, prescribe remedial therapies and present us with the bill.

If the entire House of Reprehensibles, and fully a third of the Sinate [sic], fail to take meaningful action between now and then, we have an opportunity – read solemn obligation – to kick their asses out.

We can only then – but not until then – replace them with political doctors who subscribe to the Hippocratic Oath – to heal, rather than do further harm. (Enough with the Hypocritical blather they presently proffer!)

We may not like the necessary treatment, but it beats the poo-poo out of a lingering death for our nation and/or a lifelong plague on those beloved begats.

Are we as STUPID as they think we are?

OK so we are not going to get rid of earmarks- but we are going to extend unemployment and instead of giving these folks a job to do in return for the money – we are going to spend it on replacing road sign that really don’t need replaced because they would be easier on the eyes! Civilian federal workers’ salaries will be frozen for two years but not a word about how much Congress will anti- up. Have I got this right?

Are we are STUPID as they think we are?

1-The Federal Highway Administration says switching from uppercase letters to a combination of upper and lower will improve safety. It says studies show motorists find it easier to read lower case signs.

Call and tell them the signs have at least a ten year life and when they wear out and absolutely need changed, then change them and not until then! And also tell these geniuses who like to spend our tax dollars  we don’t give a rat’s pitudy if they don’t match across the city as they change out only what needs changed let alone across the country – as we have people on unemployment who needs jobs use the money to pay them for work  done instead of replacing signs that are perfectly good .

2-As expected, Senator Coburn’s earmark ban amendment failed to muster the 67 votes needed for passage. (Due to the procedural tactic used, supporters needed to clear the super majority hurdle). The vote: 39-56.

Call and tell them they still didn’t get the message- stop spending money on earmarks – can you hear us yet? I guess not but Nov. 2012 we will take them out too!

3-Early yesterday, 27 Democratic senators sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) calling for a year-long extension of federal unemployment benefits.

The letter must have made an impression. Baucus introduced a bill last night that would extend federal unemployment benefits through the end of 2011. The bill, which would cost about $56.4 billion, is not offset in the federal budget. 

Call and tell them we have infrastructure that needs fixed, and plenty of jobs that need done… then  put these people to work instead of giving them handouts! Jobs need done- we are over paying big bucks to more and more federals employees and putting more and more regular folks on unemployment and spending more and more tax dollars on earmarks like signs we don’t need and scanners we don’t want!

4-President Obama announced Monday that civilian federal workers’ salaries will be frozen for two years to help cut federal spending

Call and tell them we have had enough of this! What about our elected officials – they have been getting raises all along? They don’t deserve higher pay than our soldiers who put their lives on the line! Are they included in the freeze? Better yet- let’s tighten their damned belts and roll back their paychecks to what we think they are worth!

Have we forgotten who the employers are here? Whose money this is? Who is in charge here anyway? We hear about entitlements – who entitled the House and Senate to the extravagant lifestyles they have become accustomed to?

I am a bit tired of the spin spin spin – let’s start cutting all the waste, fraud and abuse starting right there in DC and within every government program first then let’s see where to go next!

Bubba Clinton, those thugs are coming from the left!

“Before the bombing occurred, there was a sort of fever in America,” Clinton said at a symposium commemorating the 15th anniversary of the bombing. “Meanwhile, the fabric of American life had been unraveling. More and more people who had a hard time figuring out where they fit in, it is true that we see some of that today.”

“This Tea Party movement can be a healthy thing if they’re making us justify every penny of taxes we raised and every dollar of public money we spend,” Clinton said. “But when you get mad, sometimes you wind up producing exactly the reverse result of what you say you are for.”

Billy boy bubba Clinton was right when he warned that the Tea Party might lead to some lunatics or fringe groups who are capable of terror the likes of the Marra building bombing but what he didn’t make clear was that it wouldn’t be coming from the Tea partiers but from the thugs the Tea partiers are rising up against. What he and the far left with the help of the main stream media are trying to pass off as truth is that The Tea Party is the problem- no no no – The Tea Party People are not the problem Mr. President- We The People —  RIDs (Republican, Independent and Democrat– law abiding American tax paying citizens)  are coming to remind you It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed !

Gangsters that have been singing about going against the man and the government and the police for a decade or more now – are going after the tax paying citizens of this country and they are being led by members of our government who are obviously bought and paid for and “We the People” will not stand for it!

So I suggest Mr. President,  that you clarify who should beware of  what has been produced here and not blaming The Tea Party People for producing the problems!

 It is the usurping of the people’s power that is causing the problems in our great country and it is the cover -up that is causing the problems in our great country and it is the gangsters that causing the problems in our great country! So far all the violence surrounding The Tea Party has been contributed by the left! Can anyone show us any proof of violence from the RIGHT? Inuendo- yes- proof no! But from the left we have video, pictures and arrests since the beginning , indeed since the primaries – proof of violence and intent to intimidate  and threat of violence from the left! Race baiting and sexism all from the left!

Finally, Ms Pelosi and that gang who voted against the will of the people, marched deliberately arm in arm carrying a huge gavel across the people’s lawn. Mr. President – that  was an invitation to bring it on and yet there was none. When there were no takers they manufactured some and still not one video – not one voice taping , not one picture of violence from the right!

We the People rest our case, Mr. President.  There is no way to spin this – we the people are coming to take our country back and we will not be diswayed! We have not been drawn in and taken down to the level of the left – we will overcome!

Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.

Bautch’s leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.

The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:

Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.

The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.
