The real war on women: Dirty Words on Clean Skin

BettyJean Downing Kling

Up to now we’ve essentially heard from male authors writing from a male perspective. Dirty Words on Clean Skin, with courage and conviction, recounts the experiences that launched the REAL “War on Women.” Finally, after four years of silence, I am heartened that this woman author is coming forward to expose the truth as we actually endured it. This book is written by one who speaks for millions. Hat’s off to Anita Finlay and thank you for misbehaving! Afterall – Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History~ Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

A shocking exposé about the real war on women…who’s buying, who’s selling and why they get away with it. This eye opening journey chronicles both Hillary Clinton’s sexism-plagued historic run and the rampant denigration of women that rages on today with impunity. Dirty Words on Clean Skin transcends party politics. It is less about the treatment of one woman than the ramifications of denying equal respect to all women. This first person narrative will resonate with many who feel a burning frustration with mainstream media and the state of our political dialogue today. In 2008, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama waged an epic battle for the presidential nomination that captured the imagination and hopes of millions, but the joy of watching a qualified woman vie for the presidency was marred by newsmen and pundits calling Hillary Clinton a hellish housewife, Nurse Ratched, she-devil and bitch. DIRTY WORDS ON CLEAN SKIN examines the tactics that do damage to the credibility of powerful women and the cost to those watching from the ground. Anita Finlay’s shocking political odyssey travels beyond Hillary Clinton’s historic candidacy to investigate the media’s troubling influence over our electoral process and the behavior of a society not as evolved as advertised. Whether the subject is Michelle Obama, Sarah Palin or Elizabeth Warren, no woman is immune. The facts speak for themselves and drive this carefully researched, explosive and conversational exposé. For sixteen years, polls have named Hillary Clinton America’s most admired woman, yet when it counted, the media depicted her as a vile harpy standing in the way of history. Today, articles from The New York Times to the Huffington Post are encouraging her to once again stand for the Presidency, yet any prescription offered to a woman attempting to break the “highest, hardest glass ceiling” will be worthless without an honest discussion of the culprits and their methods. That discussion has yet to take place. Anita Finlay

Dirty Words On Clean Skin: Sexism and Sabotage, a Hillary Supporter’s Rude Awakening

Ms. Finlay’s book resonated with me on so many levels, especially the awakening to the rampant sexism and misogyny in the 2008 campaign. Once those two were out in the open, it was as if a sleeping giant had been awakened. Sadly, sexism and misogyny are still very much in the fore, especially in the political realm. Thank heavens Ms. Finlay chronicled this period in our history lest it be lost. This book is a must-read. The Rev. Amy J. Samonds

Dirty Words On Clean Skin brilliantly uncovers the dark side of our “beloved” patriarchal democratic system. Pro America through strength and conviction, Anita Finlay sheds light on our country’s internal war with feminism and its long hold on our “glass ceiling.” Despite the destructive mass media bias, Anita’s research, effort and awareness has given us a tool to discern the truth about our current political process. Dirty Words On Clean Skin reaches into the heart of America and reveals the upheavals and crisis women face in our current backward thinking political process. Anita’s responsive, investigative action into the injustices of our country’s media bias has awakened us that constructive change is needed and within our grasp. Shelby Heard

Thank you Anita Finlay for writing this book!!!! Our media has underreported (and that’s putting it kindly) the fact that 3.4 million diehard lifelong Democrats left the Democratic Party in 2008 over the disgusting sexism emanating from the “party for women.” It was such a shocking and unbelievable time and it was swept under the rug. Finlay’s book names chapter and verse of this awful saga in real time. Many of us are still as furious as Finlay as to what transpired, and the REAL magic of the Obama campaign was how it broke the bond between so many people and the party that they loved and considered to be “family.” It will be a good read for skeptics who still don’t understand what happened, and it will be a sad but important reminder to those who experienced the events the way Finlay did. Wherever a person stands on the historic election of 2008, this book gives a more complete picture of what occurred. A must read for all historians, history buffs, Obama supporters, and really anyone who follows politics. Well done Anita Finlay!!!! Cynthia Ruccia

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz: Are you ready to party- or are you ready to rumble- this is after-all a war on women?

BettyJean Downing- Kling

Ladies are you ready to fight this war against us? Some of our opponents are other women! Perhaps instead of fighting with them we should talk.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is fighting for a job and her political life- but it is up to American’s women us to fight for our own lives- shall we fight for Debbie’s Job and future or our own?

Before you make up your mind- I urge you to read two books by amazing women who were there when the REAL “War against women” began! I was there and so were millions of women who were forced to sit down and shut up. But our time has come. Gigi Gaston along with Bettina Sofia Viviano, who started her own film production company in 1990 after serving as vice president of production for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment made a documentary called “ We will not be silenced” http://wewillnotbesilenced2008.com/index.htm

Michelle Thomas who said she received death threats as she gathered the 300 signed and notarized petitions required by Democratic National Convention rules to prompt a count of votes for Hillary Clinton on the first ballot, has just released an astonishing statement that I personally witnessed : “Obama thugs history revealed in Michele Thomas Bettina Viviano interview, Obama stole 1996 Alice Palmer election and 2008 DNC primaries caucuses another documentary. http://citizenwells.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/obama-thugs-history-revealed-in-michele-thomas-bettina-viviano-interview-obama-stole-1996-alice-palmer-election-and-2008-dnc-primaries-caucuses/

Thousands of us are blogging and interviewing each other. Weeks ago I asked, What Republican war on Women? https://freemenow.wordpress.com/2012/03/15/what-republican-war-on-women/

On Monday I interviewed Anita Finlay on her new book Dirty Words On Clean Skin: Sexism and Sabotage, a Hillary Supporter’s Rude Awakening, here it here:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/freemenow/2012/04/10/the-majority-united

Women are beginning to author books on the War on Women admitting it exists but bringing the evidence to prove it is not a Republican war waged this election cycle, but the pattern of behavior launched against women every election year by both the Democrats and the Republicans in an effort to use women  for their votes.

The following two books,  Admit The Horse – PG Abeles and  Dirty Words On Clean Skin: Sexism and Sabotage, a Hillary Supporter’s Rude Awakening – Anita Finlay speak specifically to the all out assault waged by the Democrats during the primary elections back in 2008 when a woman had the audacity to actually try to run for the highest office in the land. I have written blogs about this woman hating phenomenon and now women are writing books, finally unafraid to speak out.
I reviewed both books thus:

This review is from: Admit The Horse (Paperback)

In 2008, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama waged an epic battle for the presidential nomination, but was it really a fair fight? The media told the mythical version of a dark horse coming from behind to win the race but Paulie Abeles opens our minds to an alternate narrative.
Perhaps those who wander down the yellow brick road may one day have the courage to pull the curtain back questioning who or what power was really behind the so-called magic of 2008 but those of us who worked the front lines know all to well it was plain old smoke and mirrors concealing the fraud and intimidation of the twenty-first century’s “War on Women”.
“Admit the Horse”, to those of us who lived it, is not a work of fiction at all- it is a factual account of the `war on women’ launched during the 2008 primary by the DNC, the left wing media and the pundits who rely on the political machines that run the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Both are a must read.

Terry O’Neil does NOW proud

BettyJean Kling

I know Terry, I helped get her elected and believe me – she is much less radical than her predecessors. She is however, presiding over NOW the National Organization of Women or as it should be named more appropriately, NODW the National Organization of Democratic Women and is therefore obliged to tow the party line. And tow the party line she has as was evidenced by her latest comments this week.

When Terry ran, I had high hopes that NOW , under her leadership, would open up to all women and so those of us who voted for Sarah went to Terry’s side and voted for her over Kim Gandy. Terry the presidency by a slim eight votes and everyone there knew it was the Sarah voters that took Terry over the top. It was no secret , in fact it was the talk of the weekend culminating in the election of  June 20, 2009.

We hoped Terry would remember the moderates who helped put her in and open NOW to all women but apparently the good ol Gals and the single issue ideology that keeps women from uniting has prevented Terry from taking NOW up a notch or back in time to era when the organization’s true goal is to serve and empower all women nationwide.

My heart skipped a beat when I heard Terry on behalf of NOW come out in support of Michelle Bachmann this week over the Newsweek cover.

“It’s the combination of they snap the photo of her with her eyes very wide – people call it ‘crazy eyed’ – plus that huge label they slap on her as the Queen of Rage,” O’Neill told ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe in a phone interview. “As much as I disagree with everything she stands for, she is a serious viable candidate for the United States presidency and there is no male viable candidate who has ever been treated this way.”

Terry hit the nail on the head, we need more women to run and they will not unless we stand up and force fairness in the media. Men are not treated the same way. Hillary, Sarah, and now Michelle—there is a pattern of sexism preventing women from holding the highest offices.

As of 2011, there were 72 women out of 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and 17 women out of 100 members of the U.S. Senate. That’s just 89 women, or a mere 16.6 percent. Only 268 women have served in Congress since it was established some 222 years ago.

I applaud NOW for stepping up however, how is it Terry’s job or NOW’s to defeat conservative women?

“The main reason why we would stand up for Michele Bachmann and defend her against these kind of misogynistic attacks is we want women to run for office. Of course my job is to defeat Michele Bachmann and I intend to do so. But good women will not run for office if Newsweek magazine can do this to such a prominent politician and get away with it.” http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/08/the-national-organization-for-women-defends-bachmann-against-newsweek/#ixzz1Ud9M9O6l

Perhaps it is time to change NOW into NODW?

Ideology, Minority be damned: Be all that you are, be WOMAN!

BettyJean Downing Kling

Do not let anyone, or any sub group divide you from the greater, more powerful group you belong to – it diminishes you to do so. Don’t buy it. Be all that you are.
Be WOMAN!

Organized religion just like organized political parties must keep their people in line- particularly their womankind. We are the majority after all. What would happen if the majority were to become empowered? Why they might try to think for themselves and get uppity enough to demand …

You get the point?

Anyone or any organization who wields power is not likely to easily give it up so they must find ways to convince those they want to keep down to stay in line! Having said that- we find that most folks women and men alike are happy to belong to a group and remain ensconced on one side or the other. Moreover, security in numbers, they are willing to surrender their souls (pardon the pun) to be part of a chosen group as opposed to “the other” group. It’s a shame that humankind has an “it’s me or you” mentality – but that is the way it is!

Just like the great wonders of the world and the great leaders who are credited for building them – it was really great management i.e. be it the strong arm of politics/big business keeping worker drones working, or slaves indentured or the deliberate threat of hell fire behind the faithful, working their way to heaven making to make God proud.

Without the faithful group members of any organization there is no organization! Think about that! Think about the majority- we women- and how the organizations have polarized us into Conservatives and Liberals in order to divide 52% of the population over a few issues and prevented a majority force from organizing and demanding equality!

Humankind are not much different than a pack of wolves at times, unfortunately with some women it’s more like a pack of cats! The pack’s survival instinct is to be ready to pounce or full out attack anyone who is different. We are women – not wolves or cats and we are the majority – acting like a minority. Moreover we divided down into even smaller minority groups making us even less effective. WHY? Wouldn’t we be more effective as the empowered majority?

Have heart- more and more of us are becoming independent thinkers! It can’t come soon enough for women to wise up and turn their backs on both organized religion and political parties both of which have emotionally abused women and left us behind in every way even now in 2011. We are not well represented and when we try to run for office we are ridiculed relentlessly because we are women and for no other reason. Both political parties and the media are guilty and apparently our voters are not yet enlightened either as evidenced by the treatment given Hillary and Sarah in 2008 then all the women running in 2010.

I’ll end as I started with this question?

“What would happen if the majority were to become empowered? Why they might try to think for themselves and get uppity enough to organize and demand equality and the end to sexism and misogyny, unfair DV laws, etc. etc . etc.?”

The Majority United – Ideology and minority differences be damned!
Empower Women to Unite & Mobilize!
Do not let anyone, or any sub group divide you from the greater, more powerful group you belong to – it diminishes you to do so. Don’t buy it. Be all that you are.

It is not what America can do for women but what women can do for America~ Geraldine Ferraro

Barbara

Geraldine Ferraro never backing down– telling it like it is right to the very end. This is one lady that never played the old boys game- she played by her own rules, truthful and true to herself, beautiful inside and out. Way to go Gerry!

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” she told the Daily Breeze, a newspaper in Torrance, Calif.

While critics, including Mr. Obama, pounced on her for being RACIST a defiant Ms. Ferraro defended her remarks, saying they were accurate and not racist. She has said that she herself benefited from being a woman because otherwise, she would not have been the vice presidential nominee in 1984.

While working for the Clinton campaign I had the pleasure of meeting her. At a Clinton Mother’s Day brunch in NY, I said to her that “everyone in this room owes you a debt of gratitude thank you”.

She said I know what you mean but here we are in 2008 and we are not discussing the qualifications of a woman but the ankles of a woman, she winks and smiles at Hillary, “and we are discussing pant suits rather than empty suits.”

Geraldine walked the walk refusing to attack Sarah Palin personally she is an example to us all. From her VP acceptance speech “It is not what American can do for women but what women can do for America”

Thank you Geraldine Ferraro and Rest in Peace.

Editorial Note* In appearing with Sarah Palin, Gerry was an example of The Majority United, Women supporting each other and lifting each other up rather than tearing each other apart because of ideology differences.

Why the left hates Sarah Palin

By BettyJean

It takes a great woman to humble herself as Robin did to accentuate Sarah’s accomplishments in such a magnanimous way.  Who does this for a woman you don’t even know, let alone for a women so many others go out of their way to hurt.  Ahhhh but there is a place in heaven for Robin of Berkeley. Below nothing compare to the full story – go read it and support her blog! This is a woman who supports women!

Robin of Berkeley
American Thinker: http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/01/why_the_left_hates_sarah_palin.html

People on the left hate Palin for one simple reason: because she is everything they are not.  She is their polar opposite because her life journey has diverged from the prescribed liberal path.

Palin was raised to be self-sufficient and independent since “idle hands are the devil’s tools.”  Little Sarah was up at the crack of dawn, hunting with her dad; in sharp contrast, liberal kids like me were still fast asleep.

Palin didn’t have life handed to her on a silver platter, like so many in the ruling class.  Instead, Sarah balanced school, chores, jobs, and sports.  While liberal girls like me were glued to the boob tube, Sarah had no time for sloth.

Palin attended church with her family on Sundays. On Sunday morning, young liberals like me were recovering from Saturday night.

From her devout Christian upbringing, Sarah learned to be a good girl.  In contrast, I learned everything I needed to know about how to be a modern girl from the monthly Playboy Magazine, which was conspicuously displayed on our living room table.

Sarah dated and then married her high school sweetheart; I learned that my body was a commodity that I “owned.”  And I could use my body — and allow it to be used — to temporarily still the pangs of loneliness.

There’s a lyric from a Matt Maher song that always moves me to tears.  It’s when he cries out to God: “Where were You when sin stole my innocence?”

When I hear these words, an unspeakable pain cuts through me.  I feel the ache of something stolen from me — something precious, never quite recovered.  And there are countless others out there, similarly robbed, though they have no idea what has gone missing.

And then, out of the blue, Sarah Palin, like a majestic bird in flight, swooped onto the scene of a depraved and deprived nation.  With her children and grandchild, her religion and her patriotism, Sarah is the antithesis of everything the progressives stand for.  Palin is not just pro-life, but she emanates life — and good, clean living.

Palinoia: a lesson on woman’s derangement

Another Rant By: BettyJean Kling

UPDATE 7:18 PM : You must read Robin of Berkley – American Thinker
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/01/why_the_left_hates_sarah_palin.html

She puts this rant to shame and shows me that I no longer have the stomache for this. I’m burnt out. Done , finished, can’t handle this trying to help women anymore- Thank you Robin of Berkley!

I just read a really good piece that confirms my suspicions about why people treat Governor Sarah Palin the way they do. The reason, however, doesn’t matter because … there is never a good reason to treat another human being the way Ms. Palin is treated.

I am so disgusted by the failure in our society for having anyone available to step up and properly denounce this unseemly behavior.  I want to scream obscenities and shake people and slap faces and call POTUS ugly names for not admonishing the nation for this outrageous and un-American behavior.

If our President is this lame, where in God’s good name is the Pope, to call on our church leaders? Surely someone somewhere? Why haven’t her friends the Grahams called out to that to heal itself of this ungodly behavior?

Faux Feminists can’t say they are for women while they help with the onslaught.  Conservatives can’t be doing the Lord’s will. Obviously it’s about jealousy from the women – women who can’t stand the fact that she has it all and looks like she does and actually enjoys her life too! There she is in her leather suits looking better than a body has a right too, while also being able to cook, clean, hunt, and have babies, and work outside the home as the Governor of a state and have a brain?

Afraid she sets the bar too high?

I didn’t think it could be done either – but it obviously can – and she obviously has a real life with real problems too, a Down syndrome baby, a daughter whose real life problems had to be aired and discussed by the whole world.

I also get the part men and women alike can’t stand a woman who stand up to the biggest and the best of them – even telling POTUS he hasn’t got the cajones.  Frankly, she has more balls than most Americans have.

IMHO, Palin’s problem is men are afraid their balls will shrink and women are afraid more will be expected of them and they may have to grow a pair.  The haters call her a moron.

Hypocritical Bastards. The duplicity of the Left is frightening – are they schizophrenic or dim-witted or just plain take the rest of us for fools?

Just exactly where are these  haters sitting right now, how much in their bank accounts, how many positions straight up the ladder have they held, and have they run for VP of the US lately?  Who’s the moron?

It’s one thing to not like the women’s politics—it’s quite another thing to be so damned jealous of another woman that you would …

For three years I have worked my finger to the bone trying to unite women from both sides of the aisle and God love them many have come. I formed a 501(c)3, and several wonderful women run groups have also joined our efforts but I keep hitting the same roadblock each time I stand up for Sarah Palin. Some balk, some quit. Well I am not going to stop standing up for Sarah or for any other human being who is mistreated and since that doesn’t suit enough women– is going to take one step back for every step it takes forward. I guess this organization’s odds of success are only 50/50 at this time. Not my kind of investment- I have already vested a fortune and frankly – I have fallen in love with almost every women I have met and worked with but we were born women and my dream of uniting women is lost on an era of women no longer existing in  numbers large enough to pull it off.

We don’t need another girls club; we already have enough Liberal women’s groups and Conservative women’s groups. We have minority women’s groups, we have hate groups, love groups, uppity groups and every damned group you can think of including the one and only WOMEN’s group founded and created to unite all women regardless and in spite of all the above but it fails to gain ground precisely because too many women prefer to run in packs like wolves, and klatch in their gossipy little groups or form cliques devastating for odd girls out who are ostracized.

And so they shall remain as they please. “They” said it couldn’t be done – “They”   were right- it can’t.

Someone much more articulate and less aggravated with “They” than I, wrote a hell of a good article- Read it here:
