Please bring comments/thoughts and condolences as well as stories you can recall.

Gerry, stood up to all who gave her reason to do so – she never backed down- not afraid of a fight – she is a true heroine to American women everywhere!

Geraldine, a true trailblazer for women supported Hillary and while she did not agree with Sarah she supported her run for VP. Faced race charged from the Obama camp but never backed away from her convictions or her positions. We will never forget you Gerry.

Noted by MSNBC Twitter as the First Woman and First Italian American to head a major Party Ticket, we are saddened to learn that her passing has been announced.

Thank you Anna:

    • She never got to that final goal: to be on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’

      • Nor did she get to see the 2012 vote! What a great woman! She was so gracious to Sarah. I am in tears watching this video – thank you so much for finding and sending it!

  1. I didn’t make it to the funeral of PA Lt Governor Catherine Baker Knoll, but I want to be part of the send-off we give Ferraro. She was part of the Fox News “Family” and is being remembered by her colleagues with warm remarks on FNC.

  2. Every woman who can – MUST !
help me anna – we must start now to see to it that it is done!

    • I have a suggestion, why don’t we make it a FB event? We can put it up once we know when the funeral is. Then people can post comments and condonlences there, plus they will be able to attend in spirit. FB also reminds people when they have signed up to attend an event.

  3. I am very sad after hearing about Ms. Ferraro’s passing.

I won’t be there in person for her funeral, but I will be there in spirit.

She was a wonderful person and an inspiration, I will miss her.

  4. My thoughts and best wishes go out to her family; may she rest in peace.

  5. Telling it like it is..
    Geraldine Ferraro
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” she told the Daily Breeze, a newspaper in Torrance, Calif.

While critics, including Mr. Obama, pounced on her for RACIST a defiant Ms. Ferraro defended her remarks, saying they were accurate and not racist. She has said that she herself benefited from being a woman because otherwise, she would not have been the vice presidential nominee in 1984.

While working for the Clinton campaign I had the pleasure of meeting her. At a Clinton mothers day brunch in NY, I said to her that “everyone in this room owes you a debt of gratitude Thank you”
She said I know what you mean but here we are in 2008 and we are discussing not the qualifications of a woman but the ankles of a woman, she winks and smiles at Hillary, “and we are discussing pant suits and not empty suits.”
Geraldine walked the walk refusing to attack Sarah Palin personally an example to us all. From her VP acceptance speech
“It is not what American can do for women but what women can do for America”
Thank you Geraldine Ferraro and RIP.
