Obama to Blacks: restoke the black voter’s passion to defeat Republicans this fall

The first time I heard this man speak I was moved and heard myself say “someday this man will be president” I believed he meant the words he uttered that night. I certainly believed in the concept of the words. Obviously, they were just words to the man – he didn’t mean them as evidence by everything we have seen from his partisan behavior since his election and based on his call to the blacks in our nation this week. He wasn’t ready to lead yet and still isn’t but his words… if only he or someone – anyone would stick to this script and mean it!

“…It is that fundamental belief — It is that fundamental belief: I am my brother’s keeper. I am my sister’s keeper that makes this country work. It’s what allows us to pursue our individual dreams and yet still come together as one American family.

E pluribus unum: “Out of many, one.”

Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us — the spin masters, the negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of “anything goes.” Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America — there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America — there’s the United States of America.

The pundits, the pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I’ve got news for them, too. We worship an “awesome God” in the Blue States, and we don’t like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and yes, we’ve got some gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.

In the end — In the end — In the end, that’s what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or do we participate in a politics of hope?…”

Oh but that was then and this is now- both racial divides and party politics as usual.

Obama implores black voters to turn out strong for fall elections

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama implored black voters on Saturday to restoke the passion they felt for his groundbreaking campaign two years ago and turn out in force this fall to repel Republicans who are ready to “turn back the clock.”

In a fiery speech to the Congressional Black Caucus, Obama warned that Republicans hoping to seize control of Congress want “to do what’s right politically, instead of what’s right — period.”

“I need everybody here to go back to your neighborhoods, to go back to your workplaces, to go to the churches, and go to the barbershops and go to the beauty shops. And tell them we’ve got more work to do,” Obama said to cheers from a black-tie audience at the Washington Convention Center. “Tell them we can’t wait to organize. Tell them that the time for action is now.”

His speech acknowledged what pollsters have been warning Democrats for months — that blacks are among the key Democratic groups who right now seem unlikely to turn out in large numbers in November.

And now we hear Obama and his administration are going to spend out tax dollar going after the TEA Party people. That’s us folks!

With this ad paid for by the DNC, we begin to get a picture of the Democrat’s strategy for this election year: conflate the GOP and the Tea Party, then trash the Tea Party. The Dems are also circulating what they call the the Republican Tea Party Contract on America (get it?), a set of 10 principles that encapsulate “the blueprint for how they would govern.” The DNC’s list combines perfectly legitimate political viewpoints ideas with patently absurd ones.

  1. This is URGENT!!! Please stop whatever you are doing and read this bill. It passed Congress and Senate is the only place it can be stopped. If Senate does not stop it, we will be totally under U.N. rule.

  2. Clinton came out publicly in support of the victory mosque. He even thinks it should be dedicated to the muslim victims.

In new York City where 70% of the people are against this mosque, this was a big mistake.

Clinton should have remained quiet about this.

  3. This doesn’t really have anything to do with obama, but it is a story about a black on white crime.

    A vicious crime.

I post it here only because we know that the media won’t dare cover it.
