Threat, Policy, and Response:If they will riot because it is moved a few blocks away, then they will rejoice if it is built right there!

An open letter to Imam Raof

Mr. Raof,

By your own admission this building you propose in a sacred location – in one of the very buildings that was hit by the 911 attacks- is of great importance to radical Islamic Jihadists! If radical islamics will riot because the Cordoba House is moved a few blocks away SURELY they will rejoice if it is built right there! By this very admission those Americans who oppose it are proved correct!

The United States has a longstanding policy of not negotiating with terrorists!  To those who can’t see our point let them hear your admission to what these people are capable of and think carefully then let them rethink how our very own citizens have been treated for being concerned about the same things you just admitted to.

Are we are supposed to swallow our grief to avoid another attack? And we are wrong for being against the Islamic center that clearly the Muslim worl is waiting for you to erect at this very location? This is behavior is exactly what we are objecting to! This interest in how we conduct ourselves in our country is what we object to. While – flag burning and bible burning is condoned overseas – we condemn such things here and yet our sesitivities at this particular site are turned into phobias by radicals here and abroad. Why?

Phobias indeed – you just admitted the reality of our so-called unrealistic and imagined fears! I suppose we should thank you for legitimizing our concerns.I for one have no intent on backing down to avoid angering extremist nor should we forget that the backlash here is also great. Must we also threaten murder to gain equal footing? We will not- nor will we back down. Move the mosque!

The imam behind a proposed Islamic community center and mosque near ground zero says moving it could cause a violent backlash from Muslim extremists and endanger national security.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf (rah-OOF’) says the discourse surrounding the planned facility has become so politicized that moving it could result in violence.

He says the reaction in the Muslim world could be more furious than the eruption of violence following the 2005 publication of Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

Rauf made the comments in an interview broadcast Wednesday night on CNN.

Rauf says the reason he can’t move the Islamic center now is because of national security concerns, saying parts of the Muslim world would be violently inflamed at the news of the center’s relocation.

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack… (there’s) the danger of the radicals in the Muslim world to our national security, to the national security of our troops,” he said.

“If we do move,” Rauf continued, “it will strengthen the argument of the radicals to recruit, their ability to recruit, and their increasing aggression and violence against our country.”

“If this is not handled correctly, this crisis could become much bigger than the Danish cartoon crisis, which resulted in attacks on Danish embassies in various parts of the Muslim world,” Rauf said later. “…. If we don’t handle this crisis correctly it could become something which could really become very, very, very dangerous indeed”

Please correct me if I am wrong – the peacemaking bridge builder Imam who just returned from abroad on our dime to spread peace between us and the Islamic world– has made the following admission. A simple agreement to move the mosque  a few blocks away from the Ground Zero could create a dangerous and violent crisis.

He is afraid to consider any changes therefore we Americans must not even dare to negotiate  a compromise which would take into account the sensabilities of American citizens directly involved.

So peaceful demonstrations from Americans get us labeled biggots and racists and we are called un-American while radical Islamic terrorists threaten to freak out and cause us harm and we are told this is a peace loving religion that we are all to be tolerant of!

Our demonstration have caused not one arrest- no one was hurt – there are no fires in the streets. Compare this to the demonstration in Florida where a pastor threatens to burn Korans. NOTE- no one condones the burning of the Koran as contrasted to flag burning and Bible burning whih never results in Americans rioting!

As thousands of Afghans protested a tiny Florida church’s plan to burn the Muslim holy book, the church’s pastor said he won’t follow through on the plan if he’s able to meet Saturday with the organizers behind a mosque planned near ground zero in New York. In Afghanistan, at least 11 people were injured Friday in protests.

We hear about what the Muslim world wants from the great Imam. The Muslim world? This is America- I don’t give a fig what the Muslim world wants at ground zero- I have already seen enough of what the Muslim world has done to Ground Zero.

What I don’t understand is how this Imam can come tell us in one breth how peaceful they are and in the next that he fears moving 3 blocks because they are capable of  indiscriminate acts of MURDRER!

Wake me up from this nightmare! The United States has a longstanding policy of not negotiating with terrorists! Whatever we decide- will be decided based on what we Americans want not based on terror threats !

Can you hear us now Imam Raof ? We do not negotiate with terrorists- we negotioate among ourselfs – we do not capitulate to fears and threats of terror and we are done bending over backwards to anyone. Our land, our graveyard, our sensativities and our desires are what should be of utmost importance to you – if you are indeed and American First!

In America- we dicide what we will negotiate about- we will peacefully demonstate without killing one another- Treat to kill is a crime. If they come to our streets behaving like this – we will haul them off to jail!

We will also denounce idiot pastors who go rogue – and we alone will come up with a solution without regard to what radicals choose to do. This threat or threat of a threat will only strengthen our resolve not to errect this tower here as it clearly will be exactly to these radical what we claim it will be – and that – by your very own admission.

How else can it be? If they will riot because it is moved a few blocks away SURELY they will rejoice if it is built right there!

So is this “bridge building”? Or is this a threat?

I would suggest to the Imam of the Religion of Peace that he appeal to his followers of Peace and say that in the NY alone there are hundreds of Mosques, many built since 911 and instead of the
“Muslim world becoming violently inflamed at the news of the center’s relocation or that“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack…
That the Imam tell the Muslim world the facts that the US because of it constitution recognizes freedom of religion, then explain what that actually means, he should then continue to explain “its not about Muslims under attack” its about the fact that those Muslim extremist he refers to attacked the US on the very spot where he wants to build a mosque so many Americans are sensitive to a mosque being built on what to many is considered hollowed ground.
He then should continue to “build the bridge” by saying..hey we are a peaceful religion so why would some Muslims do any of the things I suggested would be done if the mosque wasn’t built?
He could then say I really acted stupidly in planning on building a mosque at Ground Zero. So put down your swords and let’s show the world how peaceful Muslims are.
The world is watching..we can threaten, we can terrorize or we can build bridges.
