Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April: Sexual Assault Awareness Month

It appears one month is not long enough to cover sexual assault awareness. As the host of BlogTalkRadio I have devoted every show this month both Monday and Wednesday nights to the epidemic that endangers our females from cradle to grave. And have even had a Ken Smith, a male sexual assault victim on.  We are taking this right on into May and will carry the problem out as far as we have to until we get women mad enough to storm the streets demanding RESPECT for Women and Children! RESPECT damned it RESPECT! No one but we Chickens are going to have the guts to take care of this problem ladies – its just going to have to be up to us.

Let’s go Gals – let’s get er done!

Meanwhile I would like your help to raise money for a filmmaker who will be our guest on May5 th.  Jim Idema of Brandella Films is looking for funds for a movie “A Daughters Hope“

In 1981, a woman by the name of Diana Lynn Harris mysteriously disappeared from her home in the Florida Keys.  Nobody has ever been found, no suspects have been brought to justice, and to this day, her daughter, Christine Hill, continues to search for answers.  Further, from her younger years and into early adulthood, Ms. Hill had been forced to suffer things that no one should ever have to endure, least of all a missing mother. Now, Brandella Films, a West Michigan-based film production company, has co-written a feature film script with Ms. Hill entitled, “A Daughter’s Hope,” which takes a fictional look at the difficulties she faced growing up; the most painful of which included the heart-wrenching loss of her mother.  Here is a link to the mini-trailer:

In addition, here is a link to a page on our site where people can not only see the trailer, but also recent media interviews. Included on this page is a way for people to donate as well as to participate in a fundraiser we are conducting to help raise working capital for the film.

While people can’t write a donation to this production off on their taxes, it may be helpful to know that we are donating a percentage of the film’s ultimate profits to charities that handle domestic abuse and missing loved ones, including Michigan DOE’s ( and the National Network to End Domestic Violence ( We’ve also signed the NNEDV spokesman, Victor Rivers, to our cast. What’s more, we have several sponsorships available for those interested in that avenue.

We need all the help we can get- we are going to have to get the job done ourselves. So far the lawmakers are not doing it- the main stream media is not doing it – the schools , teachers and coaches are not protecting our children. The churches are not protecting our children – the advertisers are not protecting our children. The damned Judges in our divorce and family courts are not protecting our children. Child and protective services are not protecting our children.  Predators are everywhere!

So called Bible preachers are sinning left and right run out of church for cheating with both men and other women. The Pope has had to face and apologize for the sexual assaults perpetrated for centuries against children by those who they should have been able to trust and whose parents entrusted their children ‘s care into the hands of.

Pope Offers Apology, Not Penalty, for Sex Abuse Scandal

VATICAN CITY — Faced with a church sexual abuse scandal spreading across Europe, Pope Benedict XVI on Saturday apologized directly to victims and their families in Ireland, expressing “shame and remorse” for what he called “sinful and criminal” acts committed by members of the clergy.

But the pope did not require that Roman Catholic leaders be disciplined for past mistakes as some victims were hoping, nor did he clarify what critics see as contradictory Vatican rules that they fear allow abuse to continue unpunished.

“You have suffered grievously, and I am truly sorry,” the pope said in a long-awaited, eight-page pastoral letter to Irish Catholics. “Your trust has been betrayed and your dignity has been violated.” He also criticized Ireland’s bishops for “grave errors of judgment and failures of leadership.”

Girls’ sports coaches have just come under fire – exposed for abusing girls.

Dozens of predator coaches banned: report AFP) – Apr 9, 2010
There is a growing trend of sex abuse by coaches in the world of girls’ sports that is being compared (in numbers of victims) to what happened in the Catholic Church. Why haven’t we heard more about these coaches that prey until recently? What should we look for and what can we do to stop it? I fear the stories linked here are only the tip of an iceburg heading right toward our children.

Recently I watched a 20/20 Interview on USA Swimming Coaches sexually molesting teenagers in their care. Exposure of the teen molestation scandal has resulted in as many as 35 swimming coaches being banned from the USA swimming organization over the past ten years for molestation and child sex abuse.

I was disturbed to find out not much was being done to stop this from happening, and it appears to have been a growing trend for some time. According to a series of articles done in 2003 by The Seattle Times entitled “Coaches that Prey: The Abuse of Girls and the System” it’s the dark side of the growing world of girls sports. Take a good look at this series; it has everything, what to look for, actual cases, charts and statistics. It’s a real eye opener. It isn’t just the USA Swimming organizations who have this problem of coaches molesting young female atheletes, it’s every girls sport.
Misconduct often goes unpunished.

ESPN, along with ABC News reported this story and will air its own show on the swimming scandals May 2 on Outside the Lines.

Finally, while the economy crumbled, and for the last five years top financial watchdogs at the SEC surfed for porn on the internet.
At the SEC, all they thought about was SEX.
The country’s top financial watchdogs turned out to be horndogs who spent hours gawking at porn Web sites as the economy teetered on the brink, according to a memo released Thursday night.
The shocking findings include Securities and Exchange Commission senior staffers using government computers to browse for booty and an accountant who tried to access the raunchy sites 16,000 times in one month.
Their titillating pastime was discovered during 33 probes of employees looking at explicit images in the past five years, said the memo obtained by The Associated Press.
It says 31 of those probes occurred in the 2-1/2 years since the country’s financial system nearly crashed.

  1. I am totally disgusted by the child predators of this world and those who continue to allow them to be in the company of children knowing full well that these child predators will continue with their abuse of our young!

They are as much to blame for the abuse when they look the other way and should be sent away right along with these criminals!

We have “gutless” people in our society who are more interested in their image than in these young victims!

As parents, grandparents and all who refuse to just stand by and watch these predators continue to victimize our children, we have the power over our schools, churches and youth organizations to demand retribution for these young victims and to stop the continuation of child abuse!

We can forget about some in Washington D.C. helping to stop these child predators, they are busy watching pornography on their computers at the taxpayers expense!

Is it any wonder why our economy has “gone to hell in a handbasket” as many face the loss of their homes, jobs….. and there’s no letting up for the American People in the immediate future!

  2. So proud to be a part of this Betty.

  3. Forgot to put my website.

  4. Thanks for calling attention to this ALL MONTH. Without physical freedom women have no freedom, and since men are for the most part both perpetrators and legislators, yes – WE need to make sure action is taken on this ultra-important issue!

Hope you include some (female) self-defense experts…

Chimera was a great group of women-training-women self-defense experts in Chicago…I have no idea if they’re around as the former or new grouping…
