Paris Hilton Ad Banned in Brazil

Another Rant By: BettyJean Kling
and you can blame it on Rio

When some heard that a Paris Hilton beer ad had been banned in Brazil, everyone raced to You Tube to see this one! It would have to be pretty hot, hot, hot, right? But oh contraire, Paris is simply dancing around with less sensuousness then Brazil’s seven year old sexy samba carnival queen, cooling herself off with a Devassa beer while onlookers watch from the street and neighboring apartments.

Brazil, however, has strict regulations about not objectifying women in beer commercials. In fact, girls in bikinis on a beach are accepted not as sexual but as quite normal. What else would you wear at the beach? It’s all in the context of what you are doing on a beach compared to what Paris is doing here. “It’s an ad that devalues women—in particular, blonde women,” regulators said of the Paris ad.

We could use some of those Regulators here. Talk about culture shock- I can only imagine their horror if they were transferred to the US for a few months.

See Pamela Banned in Australia– looks like the whole world has more class than we when it come to caring about exploiting our women and girls in Ads!
