The Audacity of Spin: Are they kidding?

Another rant by BettyJean Kling

Look , I realize the DNC took us for a wild ride in 2008. I also agree we were dumber than dirt. I confess many Democrats fell hook line and sinker for a smooth talker from Chicago even in the face of a million little red flags that anyone with common sense should have seen through. But this email takes the cake- do these fools really think we are this damned stupid?

This takes more than audacity – this is downright insulting and even a caveman can see through this bullshit. Is there a Democrat still standing that is going to fall for this line? Please tell me every Democrat reading this take umbrage at this distortion of fact! Please write them and tell them the message is clear- We have had enough of Democratic spin- Tea Party Independents intend to clean out the house and Senate.

Bettyjean –

Last night, Democrats lost Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat in a bitter special election. This is already a sad day for all of us who loved Ted Kennedy. But to make it even worse, conservative Democrats and Washington talking heads are claiming that the loss happened because Congress was “too far to the left.”

They’re wrong again — and we can prove it.

We had Research 2000 poll voters immediately after the Election ended: Even Scott Brown voters want Democrats to be bolder and they want healthcare reform that includes a public option.

You read that right. By a margin of three-to-two, former Obama voters who voted for Republican Scott Brown yesterday said the Senate healthcare bill “doesn’t go far enough.” Six-to-one Obama voters who stayed home agreed. And to top it off, 80% of all voters still want the choice of a public option in the bill.

The message is clear, there is only one way out of this mess if Democrats want to win in 2010. It’s time to pass healthcare with 51 votes in the Senate using the budget reconciliation process. And it must include the most popular piece of bold reform: the choice of a public option.

Budget reconciliation is a procedure that only requires 51 votes to pass a bill instead of 60 — and with the loss of Kennedy’s seat, it’s the only option Democrats have to improve the bill and pass a public option.

Sure, Joe Lieberman and the rest of the conservative Democrats and blowhard talking heads who got us into this mess will keep claiming Democrats need to be more like Republicans. That’s what conservative Democrats always say while working to destroy bold reforms.

Don’t let Democratic politicians learn exactly the wrong lesson, tell them take control and lead. We need Ted Kennedy’s leadership; we need a new FDR — not an entire party of Joe Liebermans.

This joint campaign with the members of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and CREDO Action shows the path to victory in 2010.

It’s up to us to make sure Democrats get the message. After you sign, ask your friends to sign. The more signatures we collect and deliver — and the faster we do it — the greater our chances of saving Democrats from themselves.

Thank you for never giving up and fighting for what’s right. Thank you for everything you do.

  1. Obviously, Mr. Dean did not get the big picture of what it meant for the “stronghold” of the Democratic party, Massachusetts the “bluest of states” to reject the healthcare offering of the most horrendous piece of proposed legislation in the history of our country!

Mr. Dean, did you happen to notice that it was the good people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, who made their choice as to who would best serve the people of Massachusetts?

What makes you think that you and your party know what is in their best interest or even in our best interest?

It is this obscene healthcare offering as it stands, that turned the good people off!
Yet, you persist on foisting your corrupt, idealogy on the American people for the sake of saving the “Audacity of Hope & Change”!

Let’s be perfectly honest with one another. You and your corrupt dem party could care less about us “the little people” you all know what is best for all of us, whether we want it or not!

We are not as ignorant as you all take us for. Ideology is about you and your party the so called “dominant class of society,” who wish to educate or “socialize” those who are less informed! Does that sound about right?

This is the very reason why you and your corrupt dem party is losing across the board and will continue to lose, until you stop your radical agendas!

A bunch of pompous A$$E$, who haven’t got a clue, out of touch reprobates, who look down upon the hard working, law abiding citizens, who only want what’s best for this great nation!

You want to really solve this fiasco of a healthcare?

Go back to your reprobate politicians and the drawingboard and comeback with a heathcare plan that the American people really want and deserve, coverage of pre existing conditons, reasonable costs, purchasing over statelines……you all know the drill!

  2. NITL- you know the drill – I know the drill – the american people know the drill but the A$$es in DC don’t know the drill – that is why they must go!
Great writing – You need to become one of my bodacious bloggers shall I send you an invite to become a regular contributor? You are a great writer!

  3. The “New” democrats all took the brown acid at Wood Stock. The party is a complete disaster. Bush and Cheney must be laughing their asses off watching Obama blow up the party.
Just listen to Arlen Spector basically telling Michelle Bachmann to be quite and demure and let the MAn do the talking. As if Senator Chuck Schumer calling a flight attendent a bitch was not enough. Seems the hip new all boys club dems have been spending some time with Obama, listeing to Ludacris and JayZ.

  4. Thank you Julie, for bringing up the one on one between out of touch, pompous A$$, reprobate Arlen Spector and Michelle Bachmann.

How dare he spew his vitrol toward Michelle Bachmann, to act like a “lady, then maybe he will consider treating her like a lady!” His interchange with Mrs. Bachmann was demeaning, personally and politically! I was embarrassed for Michelle Bachmann!

Who gave him the right to treat a woman, let alone another human being in a disgraceful display of contempt! Lashing out like a 2 year old!

It was discussed on Hannity’s show tonight of the treatment of women at the hands of the democratic men who treat their women or any woman like “dirt under their feet”!

We all know the treatment that Hillary had to put up with, even us, her supporters and we all noticed the difference of how majority of the republican party treated their women with the respect that they deserved as women and as human beings!

Some may not care for or agree with Senator John McCain but, he always treated Hillary with the respect that she deserved.

The reprobates in the democratic party are despicable and deserve nothing but, contempt!
