The Lonely, Murderous Sons of Allah: A Psycho-analytic View

by Phyllis Chesler

Excerpt:

One is the 17th son; the other is the 16th son. Neither are the sons of a first wife. One is an engineer; the other was an engineering student. Both have ancestral roots in Yemen. Both are educated and come from wealthy families.

I am talking about Osama bin Laden–the 17th son among 57 children whose father is Yemeni–and the Christmas Day Bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab–the 16th and youngest son, whose mother is Yemeni. Both men were born “shamed,” disadvantaged, because their mothers were not “first,” or high-status wives.

  1. In the very first paragraphs I was alarmed by what it stirred in me. Obama clearly fits the following;

    “sons of Allah, yearning for paternal attention, even affection, in a polygamous culture in which fathers have too many children and little incentive to pay close attention to any one of them. This is devastating, especially to sons, because the culture overly values fathers and men, and grossly undervalues mothers and women. Thus, the attention a son may receive from his mother…does not make up for the missing and longed-for father.”

    I believe our president clearly fits your description and has;

    ““issues” with women. They can’t really connect with them—but when they do, their need to control them is extreme.”

    I see Obama as a woman hater who spends more time in HI now that he did while the woman who raised him needed him at her side, who was not at hisd mothers side when she died and who has not invited his Kenyan grandmother here for a visit yet watched while the world saw her flewn to be an exaulted guest of the Saudi King.

    He has done little on women’s rights – The Ledbetter bill was written and set on his desk so he signed it when he took office. Ldet’s not give him more credit than is due. His mother and grandmother are only invoked when needed to make a point as are Michelle and the girls.

  2. As one who has always tried to figure out what makes people tick, I appreciate your research and insight. Wonder about the Fort Hood guy?
    I agree with you BJ that Obama has some of the same issues. I have always been concerned that Obama spent his formative years in a Muslim country while we were at war in Vietnam.How often did he hear very negative things about this country and how is that affecting his ability to see the current threat of terrorism as real?

  3. Great stuff. I have been browsing around and I enjoyed it. Selah.
