Police: Gang rape outside school dance lasted over two hours By Nick Valencia, CNN(CNN) — A California high school student who police said was gang raped in a two-and-a-half-hour assault outside a homecoming dance remained hospitalized in stable condition Monday, two days after she was flown from the attack scene in critical condition. As of late Monday, two suspects had been arrested in the case and a third was being questioned.:::snip:::A 15-year-old was later arrested and charged with one count of felony sexual assault. A third teenager was being interviewed, according to Lt. Mark Gagan of the police department in Richmond, California.”Based on witness statements and suspect statements, and also physical evidence, we know that she was raped by at least four suspects committing multiple sex acts,” Gagan said. Investigators said as many as 15 people, all males, stood around watching the assault, but did not call police or help the victim, a 15-year-old student at Richmond High School in suburban San Francisco.”As people announced over time that this was going on, more people came to see, and some actually participated,” Gagan said.:::snip::::The attack occurred on school grounds as the annual homecoming dance was under way inside the school Saturday night, authorities said. The victim was found unconscious and “brutally assaulted” under a bench shortly before midnight Saturday, after police received a call from someone in the area who had overheard people at the assault scene “reminiscing about the incident,” Gagan said.::::snip::::According to authorities, the victim was flown to an area hospital in critical condition. She was in stable condition Monday, police said.”This just gets worse and worse the more you dig into it,” Gagan said. “It was like a horror movie after looking at the evidence. I can’t believe not one person felt compelled to help her.” [What’s not to believe?? Freakin’ mutant species—dwp].More, if you can stomach it.

  1. This is what our Country is coming to! First, we had the beating deaths in Chicago and now, gang raping in the streets of California and all those unconcerned bystanders, totally ignoring the plight of the 15 year old victim. Just because a 15 year old has limited rights, this does not mean that she does not have personal rights!

What do these incidents say about some of our young people’s attitude and mentality?

We are getting a glimpse as to what our future and the future of our children and grandchildren will look like unless we put a stop to it!

This could have very well happen in any of our cities and towns, none of us are exempt from these atrocities!

We all know that RAPE is a CRIME! The sad scenario is the fact that we have young people as bystanders accepting this behavior as though it is a part of everyday life, WRONG! I don’t care what world you live in, it is WRONG, IMMORAL AND CRIMINAL!

We could talk about the neglect of school officials to monitor inside and outside of school held functions. We could talk about the police authority monitoring these functions, but it comes down to the fact that our young people need to also, take responsiblity for their actions or inactions!

There used to be a program for citizenship in the schools curriculum is it still in place?

It is time to teach our young, what it means to be good citizens in the world in which they live. What America is all about and what it means to be an American and to take pride in the fact that each and everyone of us have the responsibility and the duty to serve and protect their fellow American. And that no one has the rights to impose themselves upon another!

Read the Constitution! Read the Declaration of Independence! Read the history of Our Country and it’s People!

Be inspired by whatever one’s religious beliefs may be! And to instill within our children their “family values” that is inherent within each and every family structure!

  2. Hey BJ: I’m working with some people to put together a march in Richmond on 11/7. I grew up in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High. My mother still lives two blocks away from the high school. We have to do something. I’m trying to get groups together so if you can help me I’d really appreciate it.

  3. And we women shake our heads that many folks support Roman Polanski. . .

    Disgusting shame.

    Love to ya,

    • How can this not be a hate crime. She was certainly targeted because she was female. Was she also targeted because she was white and a Christian?

      • And one more thing- here is NOW sending out email after email telling us to vote for every pro choice candidate in the country – Yet not one mentions VOTE for a candidate that is pro make VAW a hate crime!

How far we have fallen when 4 women a day are slaughtered by a man they love – thousands a day are beaten by a man they love unknown thousands a day are raped by men they may or may not know and yet women’s groups continue to chant incessantly about gay marriage and abortion which by proportion is the least of the majority of women’s problems . How in the name of Venus can that possibly make and damned sense at all.

Please someone give me the statistics on the percentage of women affected by the absolute need (meaning there is absolutely no other alternative possible)for abortions and the percentage of females in need of lifetime protection of Gay marriage (rather than civil union with full benefits) as compared to the 100 percentage of women who will benefit from the ERA and a change in the laws on VAW?

        • How much time have we devoted to discussing every aspect of abortion? Forever and do we really think that it will be any different 10, 20, 30 years………………. from now? I think we all know the answer to this question.

Exactly, what are the statistics of how many women are affected by the lifetime protection of Gay marriages vs. civil union with full benefits? This topic will also be discussed for a very longtime.

Why, because both of these issues are so controversial and require much more thought in implementing the right solutions or the right compromise.

Yet, both of these groups along with the rest of the women and young girls in this Country is not exempt from Violence Against Women of all ages.

Do we ever consider what should be done about women and young girls who are being abused everyday, every minute, every hour throughout this Country and throughout the world?

We all know what the answer to this question is, not very high on the list of priorities, is it?

When exactly, did we turn our backs on the victims, who cry out for our help and justice?

This type of victimization affects an overwhelming majority of the women and young girls in this Country, and this ever prevalent issue has a much better chance of being resolved presently, through education, assistance for the victim and the much deserved justice against the brutal treatment at the hands of their criminal offenders.

Women must insist upon passing laws across the board to send these abusers the message that we will NOT put up with their CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR against women and young girls!

Women have to demand that laws be passed and enforced to give these CRIMINALS the stiffest penalties for their CRIMES against their VICTIMS!

Too many times we have seen judgement’s passed, that amounts to nothing more than a “slap on the wrist”, and many upon their release, go in search of the same VICTIMS or seek out NEW VICTIMS, this is UNACCEPTABLE!

There is not a woman in this Country who is exempt from being victimized at any given time!

Pick up the newspaper and read about the abused. Watch your local news. Talk with your relatives, neighbors and friends. We know the abuses exists and it needs to stop and by turning your heads away because of the unpleasant thoughts, will not make the CRIME against women and young girls go away!

I don’t know if the various women’s organizations are so overwhelmed or that they are incapable of debating this issue that affects all of us or is it because it is not a high profile issue that deserves the attention?

Are we the only ones at “The Majority United” who even cares and is willing to speakup and speakout for those who have been BRUTALLY VICTIMIZED AND WHAT ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS?

As women, we belong to a most auspicious order of grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and nieces. Don’t you think that we are way overdue to speakup and to speakout and to be seen and heard from and to take a stand on this issue that effects each and every woman?

  4. BJ: For now the march is on hold. I will update as soon as I hear more.

  5. This was a white Christian girl who was invited by a ‘friend’ to go for a walk to an isolated area on campus. Next we hear about how drunk she was before the assault took place even though there is no indication that she was drunk or even drinking at the dance…and she left to meet her father for a ride home…all this is sounding quite fishy. I hope she was tested for date-rape type drugs.
I wonder if her home was one of those where it is considered unseemly to discuss such subjects or where she was told that she didn’t need to worry about being raped because it only happens to girls who “send the wrong message.”

The reason I question a religious or racial motive behind this is that we now have an administration who is using marginalizing words like Mob and racists to describe the many Christian Conservative whites who oppose him. He seems to be in denial about all the rest of us.

I remembering having that OhOh feeling in my stomach when I started seeing the sexism allowed in the primaries and the general election and even though every possible comment that could be called racist was exploited to Obama’s advantage, the misogynistic statements ran rampant. Senator McCain chose to dissociate himself from and denounce racists. Even when the Sarah Palin is a cunt teeshirts were worn outside her rallies and posted on Obama’s website, he was silent. Just a by-stander perhaps there to watch the carnage or win an election.

    • Ms., I wonder if we will ever know if this was religious or racially motivated sexual assault?

Why in the world would anyone want to incite people, by using the words “mob mentality” or “race bait”, when Americans who attend Townhall Meetings and Tea Party Protests, just want HONEST ANSWERS from this administration and those in congress?

Ms, you do make a very good point with regards to what kind of example do you set as the President, if you allow those who surround you, to use racism or misogyny to attack those who oppose your agendas!

We all saw it first hand with the attacks against Hillary and Sarah Palin during the primaries and the election. Those in the Democratic Party revelled in misogynistic behavior and what exactly did BO do to stop this behavior, NOTHING!
The fact that you remain silent, to allow your “cronies and henchmen” to do the “dirty work” for you is a real telling as to ones character!

So, yes I can absolutely see how some of our young people are thinking that if the grown ups can fall into despicable behavior unbecoming to them, why should some of the young RESPECT the RIGHTS OF THEIR VICTIMS or anyone else, for that fact !

As we know, the young learn through examples and it is up to this society and their guardians to make sure that the right examples are being set forth!

If we do not “get on the ball” an start educating some of our young people, who are still very impressionable along with all the outside influences as to what is considered as ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR and what is UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR, we will have a generation of thugs!

      • I also worry about how this administration exploited the idealism of our next generation with his promises of hope and change. I predict they will become apathetic and cynical as they find out how they were manipulated. Those os us who did our homework were at least prepared for what is now happening.

        • Yes, I agree! We raise them, we try to protect them and we give them all the love but, these false promises that were made of hope and change is not of our doing.

I see the same “starry eyed” look in the eyes of the young and how it feels to be young and invincible and ready to “take on all the injustices in the world !”

This administration absolutely manipulated our next generation! And your right, we did our homework and it will be up to us to repair the damage done by his betrayal and hopefully, regain the trust of the young.

  6. so where is the video and pics?
