It’s not too late YET! Let’s do it!

I am a student of history.  Professionally, I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied history all my life.  I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis.  Yes, these exist but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening.  I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about 10 – 15 years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving.  Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate.  Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, and school boards continue to back mediocrity.  Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman.  Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic.  To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, and Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.)   The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.  It is potentially 1929 x 10.  And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska.  All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders?  No?  Oh, of course.

The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.  This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life.  In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure.  Change is indeed coming.  And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s.  In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing.  What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker and he smiled and waved a lot.  And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his “brown shirts” would bully them into submission.

And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression].  Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy.  The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think.  How did he get the people on his side?  He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex.  He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media – Did you know that?  And he did this all in the name of justice and change.  And the people surely got what they voted for (Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.) Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of.  When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker.  He was right, though.

Don’t forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years – a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency – it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.  All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

Since many of you enjoy senior citizen status or will sometime in the not too distant future, I thought you might be interested in this information.

Every body that is on this mailing list is either a senior citizen, is getting close or knows somebody that is. Most of you know by now that the Senate version (at least) of the “stimulus” bill includes provisions for extensive rationing of health care for senior citizens.  The author of this part of the bill, former senator and tax evader, Tom Daschle was credited today by Bloomberg with the following statement.

“Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.”  NOTE – editor removed the original line as it originally appeared here as did not meet the truth test.

Just remember that Senators and Congressmen have their own healthcare plan that is first dollar or very low co-pay which they are guaranteed the remainder of their lives and are not subject to this new law if it passes.

Please use the power of the internet to get this message out. Talk it up at the grassroots level.  We have an election coming up in one year and eight months.  We have the ability to address and reverse the dangerous direction the Obama administration and it allies have begun and in the interim, we can make our voices heard!  Let’s do it!

  1. You put into words perfectly the way I have been feeling for quite some time. I was told ,that can’t happen in the USA, people learned their lessons after Hitler. Well, apparently they have not. This is absolutely eerie how much like Hitler this POTUS is! I never, in my wildest dreams ever thought that part of history could ever repeat itself, but now I know I was wrong. I just have such bad vibes where Obama is concerned, although for the sake of our country I so wanted to be proven wrong. Why can’t everyone see what we have known for a long time, Obama is destroying our country with the help of MSM and and the kool-aid slurpers. WAKE UP AMERICA AND FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY!!!!!

  2. Sandy – you know and I know that there were a large group of us that went down to that RNC meeting last year 5/31 and we knew it then – we knew it before then – !!! I am with you – what are they — BLinD?
It is hard to believe they could not see it that day – but that they still do not see it – blows me aways!
But then Look how long it took for them t realize what a dangerous and sick bastard hitler was?
When I called this man another Hitler – they laughed at me- By the time they figure it out – they will be crying with us!

    • BJ, What a sad day May 31, 2008 was. I still think about how our country turned out to be the biggest loser because of the way the DNC pushed Obama into a job that he definitely is not qualified for. I also think of how people were man-handled by those thugs in that meeting room, all for what? To silence the ones that actually saw him for what he is, and to keep the very qualified Hillary from getting the nomination that she truly won.I am proud to say that I never looked back after they stole that nomination, and showed themselves to be as crooked as other politicians that they railed against. What a bunch of losers they turned out to be, even if they did win? the WH. I voted my conscience in November, and I could not in good conscience vote for O..

  3. So Bigot – you are back again huh? Ok – Let me set you straight on something- I support Democracy not democratic causes . I have learned the difference.
Democratic causes it appears is not necessarily of Democracy.

As for the Democratic Party – I do not support them they are not democratic – they are facists or a modern version of nazi.

  4. Wait until you get a taste of Obama health care, you will be singing a different tune. Now run along and have some kool-aid and let the adults have an adult conversation!

  5. I did not see Obama refuse any of the delegates that were handed to him by the DNC, EVEN THOUGH HE AGREED TO RULES ALSO. But then, he never has a problem taking what he wants, and too bad if you get in the way. And the true Hillary supporters stood their ground, even if it was’nt the popular thing to do. One day you will be wishing you had Hillary as your president, instead of that unqualified empty suit!!!!!

  6. Bigot, there you go again ! Extremist! Why is your every answer either or? Is there no grey for you?

I don’t give a rat’s patudy what Hillary supporters did or did not do any more than I care what nazi’s did in 1933.
I am my own person – I am not a lemming.
I can think for myself and usually do.

I know right from wrong and I will leave the right from left to your capable hands.

Anyone who is foolish enough to put their lives in the hands of any one politician let alone an entire party – is not intelligent enough to question me about anything!

  7. Very good volley – I am starting to enjoy you.

Now you need to come to center and stand on your own – obviously you are intellignt so just let go of those scoundrels and come join the people who own this here country and help us take it back to whom it belongs!

Now that is an offer you shouldn’t refuse.

This is our country- we can not afford to leave it in the hands of these politicians – they all lie- they would sell their own mothers ! If we are going to be a great country again – it is going to be up to us – WE the people.

  8. A great quote by Jefferson goes as follows:

“When governments fear the people there is liberty. When the people fear the government there is tyranny.”

  9. Bigotbasher,
Cine is not against Gay marriage- that was a hit piece against the right! You have to read the whole thing including the comments to realize of course but what happened their is they strung a bunch of these jaw-dropping passages just to show how ridiculous it all is. If you read on – it becomes obvious.

I do not know of any PUMA or otherwise who is a gay basher if I did they would be off my blog roll instantly.
BTW- we are more than just PUMA’s here. While I am prodly PUMA- I am even more proudly FreeMeNow and founder of The Majority United org under the Free US Now banner which I also founded.

  10. I hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but you may want to read this debunking of the statements used here:

“McCaughey warned that the stimulus included several troublesome provisions identical to ideas outlined by Daschle in his 2008 book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis. Midway through the article, McCaughey includes this paragraph:

“Daschle says health care reform ‘will not be pain-free.’ Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.”

We contacted McCaughey to see which parts of this were her words and which were Daschle’s.

The phrase that health care reform “will not be pain-free” is a direct quote from Daschle, she explained. She said the sentence beginning “Seniors should be more accepting” was her paraphrasing of an argument in Daschle’s book in which he quotes David Mechanic, a health care policy expert at Rutgers University, saying, “more and more of what were once seen as social, behavioral, or normative aspects of every day life, or as a normal process of aging, are now framed in a medical context. … Whether wrinkles, breasts, or buttocks, impotence or social anxieties, or inattention in school, they all have become grist for the medical mill.”

We think it’s a stretch to summarize Daschle’s position as saying that seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. Not treating wrinkles is one thing. Not treating, say, heart disease, is another. But that’s fair enough for McCaughey to opine. This is labeled an opinion piece. The point is that these are McCaughey’s words, not Daschle’s.

The last sentence, “That means the elderly will bear the brunt,” was her conclusion, McCaughey said.

McCaughey said she is a meticulous scholar and “I regret any misrepresentations made by others of my work or Mr. Daschle’s views.” “

    • I fought the Rules and Bylaws committee for months, along with many of the Florida delegates (I am not a Floridian). I maintained a website (, did LOTS of legal research and published it, wrote tons of letters, helped to spread the word about rallies to stop the RBC, etc… But, I have to point out that the statement attributed to Daschle is a total misquote, at best.

Please be careful what you are perpetuating on the web. You are a representative of a movement that we hope will be taken seriously during the next election.

  11. WOW thanks for a great post and all the info provided. I too have concerns that a perfect storm may be brewing.

The American people were led like sheep to slaughter. Change? No one asked what the hell are you changing? I have written about it before and the Obots crawl out and yell you have to Hope.

We are living a nightmare and people better wake up.

I am ignoring Bigotbasher. They have a one track mind…Obama the chosen one.
Bigot doesn’t even sound American….Blame America. Maybe he is Rev. Wright LOL

    • Barbara, I think Bigotbasher may come around – he is intelligent- just has not had an opportunity to think Independent .
Suprisingly they never thought there is more than just extreme R or extreme L- when given permission to be thinkers – I believe they will prevail. American’s are after all a smart bunch and bred to be free and Independent! I have faith!

  12. Cinie is not a gay basher as BJ explained and neither are Pumas. Spend 5 mins on the Puma site and you would know that.WE work hard for equal rights, something the Democratic party has overlooked.

You think the Democratic party cares about you and your rights?

    Welcome to under the bus.

    • I can explain it. You and your DUmb friends are too STUPID to understand SATIRE.

  13. It does not suprise me that they want the seniors to pay with their lives- how else can they cut SS and Medicare but to eliminate those who rely of it?
I get it- “the elderly will bear the brunt”- If they kill them off early they reduce the payments.
Its also why cancer is taking away the young!

    • This comment is not directed at the Daschle non comment- it IS directed at the entire Insurance and pharm industry!

I sat with my daughter in these places for three years while they pumped her full of poison and finally took her life. 3 years of horror- somebody made money- I shelled out 1000.00 a week – sometimes for drugs to keep her comfortable.

Where is all this cancer comming from if not manufactured into our food so the drug companies can make money?

  14. I like the idea of negotiating with the drug companies for lower prices- a very good idea.

I also just looked up that info on Daschle – it was wrong – so I removed that line from the above piece. We need to get out of the bed with Insurance companies and drug dealers!– oops I mean pharmaceutical companies.

  15. thebigotbasher really missed the point, democratic underground jumped the shark, and the “stupid pumas” stalking site really proved themselves the stupid bigots they are. CINIE is not the same person so you are smearing her for now reason, AND you haven’t read the article properly if you think she is bashing gays. She is a black lesbian and you proved how unintelligent you anti puma fools are.

  16. that was a comment to thebigotbasher, sorry to come to your blog Betty Jean to say this, but I refuse to go to theirs or link to the shameful comments on democratic underground.

PS I hope very much that there will be an event on May 31 and I am glad to see you are working on this.

  17. thebigotbasher, you are a real idiot. Cinie’s post is called satire. It is a form of irony.

If you knew anything at all about PUMAs, you would know that many of them are LGBT.

    I’m one of them.

  18. Hi Mawm,

Long time no see- thanks for stopping by and for assuring bigotbasher. He had us all wrong! But there is hope for him yet!

I have not given up on trying to win Americans back from the brink of disater. Back to being true patriots- we need them. Unlike obots we can’t afford to throw any American under the bus.

Nice to see you again come back soon- remember 5/31/08

    • “I have not given up on trying to win Americans back from the brink of disater”

God love you Betty Jean. I, on the other hand, have become horribly disenchanted with the intelligence level of most Americans. They seem to be sitting by, singing songs around the campfire, while the country ‘crashes and burns”.

  19. Sometimes “less is more” and that often includes what passes for “Health Care” in the United States. Overtreatment is a bigger threat than undertreatment for all Americans with “Health Catre” insurance.

Check out this review: Overtreated Why Too Much Health Care Is Making Us Sicker and Poorer by Shannon Brownlee

“When doctors give unnecessary treatment, patients are exposed to all the risks – but not the benefits – of medicine, risks that include hospital-borne infections, the complications and side effects that can come with any treatment, and medical errors…”
