Change we can do without – Pimping the Presidency

Another Rant by:  BettyJean Kling

In the middle of what may turn out to be another Depression the last thing we need is this kind of twisted logic celebration. Where is the common sense and change we were promised? What would have been said of this man had he really stood for change and put aside the over the top pomp and circumstance and spent the money on something for the people or the country or research instead of his pimping of the inauguration?

But just like everything else he did since he came on the scene – it was all about him and obscene opulence befitting a coronation King rather than a presidency of a Democratic Republic.

To say the least it was a gluttonous display fit for a pig, the antithesis of a man of the real people. Has he no shame and what of the masses hypnotized by this display? Have they lost sight of being free citizens of America and settled for being servants for a King?

To top it all off in his Inaugural Address, Obama had the temerity to say:

Those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day…”

Tsk tsk tsk- when dealing with imbesils you can do anything right in front of them so long as you say pretty words – the fools will cheer! I guess we got the government we deserve !  I wish I could go forward in time to see how history accounts for how we fell for this one! Like the worlds greatest salesman once said “there’s a sucker born every minute” I just never thought the USA was chock full of a majority of em!

Inauguration of Ignorance, a Festival of Fraud and a Reception of Racism

The Bread and Circuses Presidency

Call it the Bread and Circuses Presidency, or better yet the Bailouts and Reality TV Presidency. Forget expecting results or ethics from the occupant of the White House. Just join an organization or a cause and stick your hand out for your share of  misappropriated taxpayer money, and get ready to vote online for which puppy the Obama’s should adopt

… iam pridem, ex quo suffragia nulli uendimus, effudit curas; nam qui dabat olim imperium, fasces, legiones, omnia, nunc se continet atque duas tantum res anxius optat, panem et circenses.(Juvenal, Satire 10.77–81

… Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses

So America continues the transition from a citizenry to a people, that waits for government handouts and the comforts of a monarchy as spectacle, broadcast simultaneously on all channels. While Obama preps a cabinet slate, half of whom belong in jail, the media continues applauding loudly to drown out any criticism. And the public watches with glazed eyes.

The millions who will trudge to watch this “historic” triumph of style over substance, dishonest criminality over ethics, and anti-americanism over American, will get exactly what they expect. A $150,000,000 coronation for the Prince of Chicago, a lavish subversion of American democracy splashed across every television and website.

When Rome moved from Republic to Empire, the corrupt decadent Emperors understood what the mob wanted. As Obama’s backers work to make America a post-Democratic post-Republic ogilarchy, they’re doing it with Bread and Circuses.

The ObamaGirl Revolution (TM) will be brought to you by Pepsi (TM) and Jones Soda (TM). Now stay tuned for a news report on a letter by Obama’s flacks supposedly written to his children, yet broadcast to all of America. Feel free to buy some Frito chips, the official chip of the Obama inauguration. And  now breaking news, a special interview with the Obama’s new dog.  Switch to another channel to see all the movie stars getting their moment too. Welcome to the Fall of the Republic, brought to you by Pepsi.

Never mind that a Muslim Brotherhood proxy will be delivering a prayer at Obama’s inauguration, which means that Al Queda and Hamas will have a place of honor at the event. Keep your eyes on the celebrities and the concerts.

The War on Terror conducted officially by the American government is over, and this time instead of four planes, America itself has been hijacked. The lead hijacker, the 21st hijacker, will shortly place his hand on a Bible, and swear to defend a country he was not born in and overtly despises. And he will try to keep a straight face while doing it, and perhaps show enough restraint not to scratch himself with his middle finger or grab his crotch during the ceremony.

After the last month of outreach, there will no doubt be conservatives that will report approvingly on this. Though what exactly they will be conserving besides their own mainstream relevance, New York Times and Washington Post columns is unclear. When the mob gets big enough, many feel compelled to march with the mob. That is their choice and a matter for their own consciences.

There will of course be Jews there at this Ahasverosh feast, which like the original will be a case of feast before attempted genocide. Those Jews however are no brothers or sisters of mine, no more than the Neturei Karaites (yes the spelling is correct), the Kapos in the camps or those wealthy and well off Jews during WW2 who aided and abetted the Nazi genocide by helping bar Jewish refugees from safe harbors such as America, South Africa or Singapore. I have no connection to them and no obligation to them whatsoever, neither as brothers or sisters, or even as human beings. Whether they knew what they were doing or not, their actions have placed a Mark of Kayin on their own foreheads. Like the original murderer of his own brother, they have no place near me.

There will finally be the Obama Zombies, the grass roots supporters who donated more than they could for Obama, who worked to the bone for him, and now imagine that their sacrifices will have some meaning. Theirs will be the spectacle but nothing else. Some of them are already realizing that they have been used. Others will take a while to realize that the Cult of Personality they have joined has nothing to offer them. But sooner or later, all of them will know the truth, whether they choose to deny it or not.

But what the spectacle in Washington D.C. will truly testify to, is the danger that the American Republic is in, a danger caused by the abandonment of a loyal, responsible and committed citizenry, in favor of a universal mobocracy, cultivated by popular culture, and devoid of actual political knowledge. Subtract all the ballots motivated by ignorance, racism and fraud– and this election would never have concluded the way it did. And that in truth is what this Inauguration will be a historic triumph for, no matter what the Lapdog Media or any of the Poodle Pundits say.

It will be an Inauguration of Ignorance, a Festival of Fraud and a Reception of Racism. The only history being made here is the Fall of a Republic, into a phony populist monarchy. When the 21st Hijacker in Chief takes his oath of office, America will be facing the greatest challenge to its own survival since the Civil War, a ruthlessly corrupt Bread and Circuses Presidency.

Meet My Mikie

A Tribute by: BettyJean Kling
Nine years ago just before 12 last night my son Mikie curled up in my arms and went to sleep for the last time. They

Michael Guy Richardson July 15 1965 - January 20, 2000

"Mikie" Michael Guy Riichardson July 15 1965 - January 20, 2000

pronounced him after midnight so on the record the anniversary of his passing is January 20th. 2000.  I penned the following a little over a year later for his 36th birthday and I choose to share it with your today . This is not my favorite picture – he was very sick in this photo but it is how he looked at the end.  Mikie had colon cancer and rarely allowed photos.

Meet my Mikie He’s my Son

Meet my Mikie he’s my son,
A pain in the neck this one.
When he was born we both were sick
Rh factor pulled a trick.

Well Mikie he had special needs,
Special schools and nasty deeds.
What a beauty was his face,
But none of us could keep his pace.

I loved him still through all of this.
His skills were great his thoughts amiss.
He tried this and he tried that,
He got around that little brat.

He was more trouble than he was worth
Or so we thought while still on  earth.
He battled illness eighteen years
Brought joy, brought grace and lots of tears.

So many times he faced the end
But that boy bounced right back again.
He asked me once in great sincere
If at the end I would be there.

I told him then and  kept my word.
I saw him through each twist and turn.
We never thought the end would come
But here I sit without my son.

His 36th birthday is this weekend.
We celebrate another — without him– again.
It wasn’t till he left, I thought,
That I sensed the joy that boy had brought.

Why  not appreciate him more?
While he was here and such a chore
Well Mikie, he had special needs,
Special schools and nasty deeds.

Only now we see the good he done,
He truly was a special son.
But now we smile at all his deeds
And pray has no special needs.
He lived his life as he saw fit.
I really never understood it.
In his short stay he did it all
He stood his ground and he stood tall

He sampled more of what there was to do
And to his own beliefs were true
No one here can ever say
He did not do things Mikie’s way.

I hope before I meet him there
I’ve lived my life with special care
That  to my own self I am true
The way he taught us all to do.

He’s on my mind each night and day
More so now than when he was in my way.
I never got what special meant
Until the moment that he went.

I brought him in and I took him out
The time between was quite a bout.
I picture now my dear dear son
Above the clouds and in the sun.

No more sickness, no more pain,
no more sadness, no more rain
On a Harley riding high,
above the clouds up in the sky.

Oh my Mikie– I miss you so,
the hardest thing  to let you go
There’s only one thing left now to do
To tell you son– I still love you.

Happy Birthday Mikie

He swings… he misses!

He swings… and… misses…

In his curiously depressing inaugural speech Obama described this country as basically being in the cold and dark grip of winter, with no hope in sight. We are “in the midst of crisis”… “gathering clouds and raging storms”…”sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America’s decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.”

And what does he offer us? You guessed it!

“On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear

And how will this hope manifest?

“…we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

It’s the same rationale as my mothers – Because I say so, that’s why!

Just as he is the one we were waiting for, and that on the day he became the nominee the healing of the earth began, now he assures us that:

“What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply.”

The ground shifted as the mighty Obama strode across it. Ain’t that grand?

File this next one under “what the fuck where they smoking when they proofread this draft”. Ready? Here are the official religions of our country:

“We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and nonbelievers. ”

So if you are follow any other religious faith, like Native American spirituality, Wicca, Buddhism, Shinto, to name the ones who spring to mind YOU are nonbelievers.

The middle of the speech was laced with platitudes about how we are going to cooperate with our friends, end the occupation of Iraq and Afganistan, a stern warning to terrorists, and to us that we are going to have to “have some skin in the game” as he said in a pre-inaugural interview.

He concluded this mess with more stark imagery:

“So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America’s birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

“Let it be told to the future world … that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive… that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it].”

It’s Valley Forge bad here folks, and we are huddle around the virtual campfire with the enemy advancing. God, I feel full of hope already!

But wait, there’s more depressing verbage to come!

“America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”

Could he have lowered expectations for his presidency any further? I don’t think so.

But watch and listen, boys and girls. This drivel will be hailed as the greatest speech since, well, his last speech! It will be canonized as better than JFK, than FDR, than anyone before him.

It left me thinking that if there was one thing endearing about Bush, it was his optimism about our country. Obama doesn’t seem to have that. He thinks he, I mean we, are in deep shit.

Was King’s Dream — Only Black Men Deserve Equality?

Another Rant by: BettyJean Kling

Hold your celebrations folks. We are not there yet- history was notWas King's Dream, Only Black Men Should Have Equality? made – we did not overcome- and Martin Luther King’s dream will not be fully realized on Tuesday by the coronation of Obama. Wasn’t it King who said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”? Weren’t some of those little children daughters?Did Martin imagine that anyone might still be enslaved and find that to be acceptable?

Would he have agreed to stealing an election from a white women just to make way for a black man to serve first–  good character? That’s not the Martin Luther King I knew.         Is it?  Was he a sexist, a misogynyst? How would he  judge the character of this man?

Are we as a Country sexists and misogysts? Because now all of a sudden skin color became the factor that everyone is judging how we make history? Was it because his face was black and for a short blip in our history blacks were kept as slaves? Or maybe some
would say we are celebrating a black man reminds us of slavery and somehow this partially black man with no slavery background transcends that dark part of our history? Well that may be quite a stretch but we are still not there yet!

Women’s slavery has yet to be resolved – it is not a blip in history — it is a fact of a life for woman, and it’s been going on
since the beginning of time. Women have been ignored, blamed, talked down to,20laughed at, held back, paid less, worked harder, kept down, smacked around, humiliated, degraded , victimized, beaten, raped andare murdered at the hands of men — their own husbands and fathers and are still daily victims right now.

This so-called historic Black candidate was not a product of the civil rights abuses of this country; he did not suffer mistreatment by anyone during his candidacy as did both the female candidates. So I ask again what was so euphoric that millions were crying – some for joy and some from the release resulting of shedding their white guilt. Guilt they willingly accepted as their responsibility and obligated the rest of us to carry with along with them while they turned a blind
eye to those of us who have been enslaved since the beginning of time and who were left behind yet again.

1870 – The 15th Amendment gave black men the right to vote.
1920 – The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote.
2008 – Democratic Party urges Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the presidential campaign & support Barack Obama’s “historic” candidacy

No- I maintain as do up to one half on this nations citizenry who is taxed yet not fully represented, history will not be made until every enslaved, mistreated or otherwise unrepresented citizen is equally represented, until Jeremiah Wright does not call anyone a nigger, until no women is ever again called a cunt, until women support other women whether they fully agree on every issue or not, until black women mind being enslaved as women so long as it’s not as a black women and until a woman is elected as president of the United States of America.

Then let there be dancing in the streets and celebrations in every home and tears of joy to celebrate a truly historic accomplishment to be proud of. In stead you stand there with tears in your eyes as if you accomplished some great feat you damned so-called civil rights leader hypocrites! Civil rights include human rights! Women’s Equality is a human right!

Oflag! Stars and Stripes for Obama?

Another Rant by:  BettyJean Kling

Enough is enough now already – this has now gone too too far. This idolotry is sickening enough but to make a mockery of our flag which my father and many of yours risked their lives to defend is the last straw! Contact your Representatives immediately and let them know you will not tolerate desercration of the flag.  According to the Flag Code:

  • Section 8g: “The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.”
  • Section 8: “No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America.”
  • Section 8j: “The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing.”

All our Senators and Representatives should be putting a stop to this immediately. It is illegal for the US Flag to be desecrated in this way. We are Air Force Vets and American soldiers didn’t die to have our Flag displayed with such flagrant disrespect.

It’s all about Louisa- Frank

Not Quite Another Rant by: BettyJean Kling

frank1Frank finally answered one of my calls today. We spoke just long enough for him to say he felt he wasn’t given enough recognition in my blogs for being her husband and that it was his insurance that paid her hospital bills.

My first draft of this rant was to give Frank all the recognition he deserves. I was going to introduce you to Frank, the good the bad and the ugly. And believe me that’s how the progression went.

But after writing a typical rant (and believe me it was the mother-in-law of all rants) I decided to step back and take a larger view of the situation. Frank reads my blogs and can only see that he is left out, I tell him it’s not about him or me –it’s about Louisa. And it’s about the sexism and misogyny in this society that puts so many women in the same situation that Louisa is in now.

So in recognition of the Great and Wonderous Events we expect to happen after the coronation this Tuesday I will depart from my usual rant and in the spirit of hope and change I will give Frank his recognition for being Louisa’s husband for the past four years. And, I will acknowledge the fact that he says he loves her.

Now, Frank, what can I expect from you in return. Will you put aside the petty bickering and work with me for Louisa’s best interests. Will you work with me in setting up a visitation schedule that gives Louisa the best hope for improvement and care. Will you work with me to insure that Louisa is surrounded by her family and loved ones for however long and in whatever state we have her.

Frank, now that we all know that you exist, I hope you will step up to the task. I sit by the phone and hope our next conversation will be more productive.

It’s your call Frank.
