Puma’s for McCain

RNCC Interview – Puma’s for McCain

as posted at 3:55 pm on September 5, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

We’ve heard that PUMAs are mythical creatures, those women who supported Hillary Clinton but prefer John McCain to Barack Obama. Well, not only do they really exist, two of them felt motivated enough to turn the van around on the way home from Denver to get themselves into the Republican convention. Last night, my NARN partner Mitch Berg and I talked with Betty Jean Kling and Robin Rowlinson. The two women heard the media slurs against Sarah Palin and made up their mind to show solidarity with the Republican Vice Presidential nominee:

The first question Mitch and I got after talking about this interview with a few other people around the RNCC was whether the two were on the level. They were; Ms. Kling donated to both Hillary Clinton and the Womancount PAC, according to Open Secrets. Since the two women knew each other and traveled together, I’d call that a confirmation of their support for Hillary and their activism on her behalf, right up to last week.

Quite obviously, the treatment of Sarah Palin by the mainstream media has inflamed PUMA anger all over again. Most of them may not have been motivated enough to come to St. Paul and declare open support for Palin and McCain, but at least two of them were. Listening to them, they don’t seem like lunatics or attention seekers. In fact, they were a lot of fun and remarkably rational, as viewers will see for themselves.

Will more PUMAs follow suit after the relentless attacks on Palin and her family in the media? If these two women can make the trip to St. Paul, many more can make the shorter journey to support Palin at the voting booth.

PS From Bettyjean aka FreeMeNow- The MSM and particularly NBC, CNN and ABCNEWS among others continue to declare that Palin does not have female (or male) supporters despite evidence to the contrary that many women (and males) across many demographics love Gov Sarah Palin including Democrats and previously Hillary suppporters.

To add insult to injury, they smear her family with the most sexist, disgusting and inappropriate remarks.

Let’s fight back! Let’s drop boxes of petitions at the MSM’s door- no more sexism. We got Oberman and Matthews tossed from anchoring election coverage now lets go for the jugular! If not now when ? If not us Who? http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/womenforpalin/index.html

  1. That would be Pumas, not Puma’s.

  2. Vote for a candidate because she is a woman. Is that the same as the right winged republican black man voting for Obama and extreme liberal, simply because he is black. Sounds like racism and prejudice at its best. Keep it up girls. You are definitely making a point, but I am not sure its the point you want to make.

so you go ahead and keep doin gthe same shit over and over again while we keep going down the tubes and me- i am going to try it a new way- like I run my house – neat clean and in budget! I buy what i can afford – I love my family – I treat everyone fairly and don’t take more than i deserve and no one else gets better than they deserve ot earn and we all do our jobs and work together –

But if you like it the way it is – go ahead- I intend to overrule you – that is what is so great about the America I know and love- .
