An Early Christmas Poem

This was sent to me today and I wanted to share it with all of you.  I do not know who wrote it; but it is very clever, current and topical.

An Early Christmas Poem

 Twas the month before Christmas*

*When all through our land,*

*Not a Christian was praying*

*Nor taking a stand.*

*See the PC Police had taken away,*

*The reason for Christmas – no one could say.*

*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*

*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*

*It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say*

* December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.*

*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*

*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*

*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*

*Something was changing, something quite odd! *

*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*

*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*

*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*

* At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was nowhere to be found.*

*At K-Mart and Staples and Penney’s and Sears*

*You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.*

*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*

*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*

*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*

*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*

*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*

*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*

*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*

* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*

*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*

*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*

*So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’*

*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*

*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*

*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,

not Happy Holiday !*

Please, all Christians join together and

wish everyone you meet during the holidays a

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The Phone is STILL RINGING!

FREEDOM OF THE PRESS REVISION THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2009 BY FCC?

Our communications are at stake!  Please let your voices and those of all our fellow freedom advocates be heard LOUDLY!

Phil  Kerpen, Chairman of Internet Freedom Coalition and Director of Policy at Americans for Prosperity, has stated on Glenn Back  (Tuesday, October 20, 2009) that Van Jones (deposed Obama Czar now working under John Podesta at Center for American Progress) was on the board of FreePress (see the below donation request).

Obama stated:  “I will take a back seat to NO ONE in my commitment to network neutrality.”

Phil Kerpen: “Obama is a big proponent of ‘Net Neutrality’.” “This is an issue that very few Americans know about.   But to the hard-core ideological left, especially the online left, this is their HOLY GRAIL. This is something they have been pushing for, for a long, long time.”

The FCC is poised to vote on Internet Neutrality and Regulation – turning it over to the GOVERNMENT THIS THURSDAY, October 22, 2009.  The Christian Coalition has signed on to this agenda saying they believe GOVERNMENT WILL DO MORE TO PROTECT CHRISTIAN RIGHTS OF FREE SPEECH THAN CORPORATIONS; they will.  “A few conservative groups have signed up by buying into the scare stories that if we don’t get government to step in and regulate the big bad phone and cable companies will block Christian sites because they don’t like what you have to say and so on and so forth.” said Kerpen.  The CEO’s of Amazon, Google, Ebay, Facebook and Twitter have signed a letter of support (many of these entities are staunch Obama supporters and in fact, one of the founders of Facebook ran Obama’s online campaign and still works for him today.

This agenda pushes for FREE BROADBAND FOR EVERYONE – ANOTHER GOVERNEMENT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM, as well as control of this very same media you are now reading!

Here is a copy of the notice for the meeting as published on the FCC website.

From Free Press Action Fund:

The Local Community Radio Act is moving fast through Congress. Just today, the full House committee voted for it, too. Translation: We’re one step closer to replacing radio monotony with true diversity on the dial (please see my original e-mail below).

This vital bill has never made it this far on Capitol Hill. Free Press needs your help to ensure that the full Congress votes for local radio. Contribute now and make better radio a reality.

Thanks – Candace

Email verbage:

Dear XXYYZZ,

Talk about a giant leap! You and thousands of other Free Press activists told Congress to breathe new life into local radio.

Yesterday, Congress listened. A House subcommittee overwhelmingly voted in favor of the Local Community Radio Act (HR 1147), a bill that would open the airwaves to hundreds of local independent radio stations.

This bill has never made it this far before. We’re making a final push to ensure that all of Congress votes for better radio… right now!

Can You Chip In $25 to Make Better Local Radio a Reality?

Donations from people like you have made it possible for the Free Press Action Fund and our allies to light up the phones on Capitol Hill and to secure nearly 90 bipartisan co-sponsors for the bill. But much more must be done:

  • Our lobbyist needs to visit 40 more offices on the Hill to get us to over 100 co-sponsors
  • We need to keep building support from leaders and organizations across the political spectrum
  • We need to mobilize activists in key congressional districts to keep the pressure on Congress

The Local Community Radio Act would open the radio dial to vibrant local stations and help to reverse decades of recycled playlists by corporate radio. A big push right now could make the difference in passing this crucial bill this year.

The Free Press Action Fund is supported by our members — we don’t take money from businesses, government or political parties, making your gift all the more essential.

Can You Contribute $25 to Bring Independent Voices to the Radio Dial?

Your support can help shape the future of radio in America. Please donate today.

With thanks,

Candace Clement

P.S. We’re so close to a victory for better radio. We never would have made it this far without the amazing work of our allies at the Prometheus Radio Project. Please take a moment to learn more about them by visiting www.prometheusradio.org.

PWC Report on Healthcare Reform

Here is the actual report entitled:  “Potential Impact on Health Reform on the Cost of Private Health Insurance Coverage”.  You can read it at http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/pwc_report_on_Costs_final_101109.pdf?hpid=topnews

The Key Findings of the report are:

        Key Findings

  •  Health reform could have a significant impact on the cost of private health insurance coverage.
  • There are four provisions included in the Senate Finance Committee proposal that could increase private health insurance premiums above the levels projected under current law:

o          Insurance market reforms coupled with a weak coverage requirement,

o          A new tax on high-cost health care plans,

o          Cost-shifting as a result of cuts to Medicare, and

o          New taxes on several health care sectors.

  • The overall impact of these provisions will be to increase the cost of private insurance coverage for individuals, families, and businesses above what these costs would be in the absence of reform.
  • On average, the cost of private health insurance coverage will increase:

o          26 percent between 2009 and 2013 under the current system and by 40 percent during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.

o          50 percent between 2009 and 2016 under the current system and by 73 percent during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.

o          79 percent between 2009 and 2019 under the current system and by 111 percent during this same period if these four provisions are implemented.

My comments about the White House reaction to this report are:

Each day I am more amazed at the hubris and lack of any shred of integrity of this administration.  Remember Obama had an unprecedented meeting with the head of the CBO after the numbers about healthcare reform or as it is now known – health insurance reform were released?  Shortly after this meeting, the CBO’s numbers became more favorable to the White House way.

This administration seems to ask how dare the insurance industry commission its own audit.  Why not!  Isn’t this same administration calling for businesses to leave the stalwart Chamber of Commerce?  How dare the Obama Administration?  How dare they impugn a trusted company like PricewaterhouseCoopers by deeming  and dismissing them as an auditor for tax shelters?  How dare they continue to act as if the American public is stupid?  How dare they?

They dare because each and every day, as they walk into their offices, they smile with the smug knowledge of knowing they are in that office.  They pulled the wool over America’s eyes by their own election.  And each day as they continue unchecked, they thumb their collective noses at us.  This administration is more dangerous to our peace, safety and body of laws than any other previous threat.

What are you doing to have your voice heard?  What will it take to get you to speak up?

I implore you to be well-informed and let your voice be heard.  If you believe your government, on any level, is not acting on your behalf or in your best interest, get involved!  Tell these elected officials – “YOU’RE OUT”.  We have 386 days to FLIP THE HOUSES of CONGRESS!  Start working today!

YOU CAN VOTE NOW ON HEALTHCARE FOR CONGRESS!

TIME FOR YOU TO VOTE ON HEALTHCARE!

Please vote and get this poll out to everyone you know.  Please cut and paste this message into an email to everyone you know who believes Congress should have the same health benefits as the rest of America!

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our
congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough!  Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana!

Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple – just first, last and email). I have immediately done just that at:  http://fleming.house.gov/index.html .
Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families!

When Does Dissent Equal Racism?

We’ve heard it before and sadly, it seems it will be trotted out again and again and again…  If you don’t support Obama you must be a closeted Republican or a racist.  This was the mantra marched out at all the democratic primaries and caucuses across this nation from January of 2008 through the general election of November 4, 2008. If you aren’t supporting Obama you must be a racist.  Interestingly, many of the problems we kept seeing in Obama are now surfacing more widely: his lack of experience, managerial and executive, his continual campaigning for the next office, his associations with those who ideals did not reflect our own American values, and so on.  But very few if any voiced an issue with his race.

One of the best responses I know is perhaps the simplest.  If America is so mired in racist mentality and simply put is a HORRIBLY RACIST NATION, how did this man of mixed race, who classifies himself as African American / Black win the election and become President?

Let’s set the record straight IT’S NOT ABOUT RACE!

I give you the following thoughful response to those chanting racism.

Statement of Deneen Borelli on Allegations of Racism Against Critics of Obama Policies

Washington D.C. This statement was issued today by Deneen Borelli of the national black leadership network Project 21:

“There they go again. Now Jimmy Carter has joined House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, Texas Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, New York Governor David Paterson, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd and others on the left in claiming racism is behind criticism of President Obama’s big-spending policies.

The public is outraged about the president’s policies — the spending, the budget, the deficit — not his skin color.

President Obama was not elected only with black votes. Are those who cry ‘racism’ saying the American people suddenly woke up and said, ‘oh, he’s black so I don’t like him anymore’? That makes no sense. The criticism of Obama’s policies is about the policies — the stimulus, the growth of government, cap-and-trade, the health care bills, the overspending.

It’s easier for the left to play the race card than address the public’s legitimate concerns, but what the left and the media are doing is damaging and dangerous.

It’s damaging because when everything is racist, then nothing is. Those who cry racism without evidence will cause people to tune out in cases in which there is evidence.

It’s dangerous also to send a message that racism is behind everything. What does that tell young black men and women? It tells them they will never get a fair shake and that white people who have never met them dislike them. With a message like that, it’s no surprise we’re seeing apparently racial incidents like the widely-circulated video of a young white student being beaten up on a school bus by black students while other black students cheer. What message have those black students internalized from liberal leaders like Rangel, Johnson, Paterson, Matthews and Dowd and now former President Carter? That white people are their enemy.

If this continues — if not already — the left will literally have blood on its hands, and all because it was too dishonest and too cowardly to have a fair debate with the American people on policy.”

Project 21, established in 1992, is sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research (http://www.nationalcenter.org).
